This was a great video and very nostalgic. Thanks for the memories. Jefferson Ave was where we went to shop! It was great to see the bands and I can still remember getting shakes at McCrorys and eating at so many of the restaurants along the strip. Thanks again for the memories.

Loved this! When I was 14, (1970) I worked at a print shop across the street from the Jefferson Theatre. I believe that is where Oswald was hiding when the cops caught him. We lived on Ryan rd., off of Kiest (sp?). Went to Jeff Davis elementary ( I bet that name changed!) Thanks for posting.

Another great video, Mary. Keep them coming. I will mention this, that the Burger King on west Davis just west of Hampton Rd. is where I ate my first whopper. Believe it or not, that Burger King is still there today cooking up burgers. It has to be one of the longest running businesses in Dallas.

This was awesome. I especially enjoyed the adverts that I'm guessing were from DISD yearbooks? Thank you for posting.

Wasn't Gilley's in Cockerel Hill?

Yes, there were actually 2 locations on Jefferson, the one in Cockrell Hill and I believe the other was in the Jeff Davis shopping center

The original location was Cockrell Hill. Later, they had a store in the Jefferson Davis Shopping Center

You should go. They have a parking lot right next to the restaurant and the food is as good as it's ever been.

$1 for a pennant? You're looking at well over $100 today.

I love this but there's more to Oak Cliff than Jefferson..

I couldn't agree more and I lived every mile of it. My focus of this one was just Jefferson Blvd

Of course, there is. I was trying to keep the video a manageable size, but in the coming months, I plan to add other areas as well. I have pics of Drive-Ins, Rocket Skating Rink, etc.
