Love the early stories Tom. I remember my first Fair in the UK when I was around 10. Walked in with my Mum ( under duress) and saw for the first time German Tunics hanging on hangers…hooked. I don’t collect German as I collect Royal Air Force, but the interest will never diminish. Thanks for the videos
Don't worry about guys who complain that you talk too much, your stories and experience is the field is information worth sharing and priceless. It's always good to know the history behind the hobby, especially one as niche as this one.
I’ll never forget going to gun shows in the late 70’s/early 80’s with my dad and the militaria was always super cool for me. The flags hanging up and mannequins and uniforms and daggers and bayonets. I always wanted a H youth knife as a kid, never got one. The gun shows back then were a very big deal and I always loved going.
I like to hear your stories and the history of the early days of collecting. Knowing the history of our hobby is as important as the history of the items themselves.
Oh I remember the 1960s and 70 s Tom. You could buy an original SS helmet out of a Sports Afield magazine for $19.95! Daggers. Bayonets. Tunics. But back then it was all still too fresh. Most people were like who the hell wants a Nazi helmet lol. Same with guns K98s. I enjoy your videos immensely Tom. I wish someday, you guys could come to SW Florida. You guys would be sold out. Have a great day
Another fantastic video, thank you Tom. Your friend Andrew from the UK has been selling me some choice items. Don't know if I'm weird but, hot bath, JD and coke and Mr Tom on my phone 😁
Hey Mr Wittman. It's Aaron in NC...we've talked a few times by Email about my J.A Schmidt amd Son SA dagger. Just wanted to say the guy who complained about you "talking too much" can go watch something else. Those of us who watch your UnBoxing videos look forward to your stories and anecdotes as much (if not more) the actual items.
I had to stop the video and comment. I remember the 70s and all and Charlie Snyder and the greenbelt Maryland show. He was about as nice as a alligator at feeding time. Ok back to your video lol
Seems like most your viewers, like me, enjoy the stories and appreciate the history of the hobby. For those guys that just want to see items they could go online and look at pictures then
My first piece of militaria I ever collected was in 1974. A US sailor gave me his hat insignia. I was 9 years old. The next year I got my first WW2 German collectible, a sleeve insignia for a fire brigade. I still have them both.
Even in tropical conditions the Witt Mann knows to entertain his international audience ! Now will we see him play the drums the next episode ? Will the Lady of the House ever sleep again when he practices his new percussion skills ? Greetings from Europe !!
You know it's funny Tom every time you take a drink while I watch your show I take a drink I just need to smoke some cigarettes in my house LOL keep up the work thank you you're the best
No you don't talk to much, love you stories, especialy from the early days of dagger collecting, 20$ for an HJ knife, man.... Question: I already heard it sometime but what excactly is an Jim Atwood dagger? Greetings from the Netherlands. Mike
You would think it was fine china, the way they wrap those items. 25:50 I'm watching your face, when you open that big box and you look like a kid on Christmas morning.
Tom, I gotta say, towards the guy who doesn't care about what you say, is a guy who doesn't appreciate the history of what you sell. You can't know why and how such an object is sold for without understanding why it's sold for so much
In 1975 I worked in a factory for a few months at $3.91 per hour. Starting wage there today is $18/hr. So,you are probably pretty close in your figure.
