Delta Goodrem asked me last week if I’d send her a video performance of "Down Under" so she could duet with me, for the Music from the Home Front thank you concert in Australia.
I’m so glad I did. She sang and played so beautifully I got the goosebumps.
I also loved watching everyone else singing their party pieces. Lovely.
And thank you to all those on the frontline of this thing. It’s more than above and beyond. And to Support Act too, a great organization. Love to all.

This song was in an Australian ad. It implied the struggle we have been through in 2020. It made me cry. This is a fantastic song.

@@andrewkonopik Are you that stupid? we were ravaged by some of the worst bushfires ever seen in Australia that killed several and changed the lives of many. Then severe flooding followed that which made rebuilding impossible. People lost everything and are still recovering. Nothing to do with the government. Stupidity is ripe with you.

I think this song touched a lot of people’s hearts well before this, but this version is so beautiful because it’s 2 Australian icons, doing their thing, from their own homes during covid lockdown and absolutely turning one of Australia’s favourite songs into an anthem for ‘we will get through this!’ I watched it live from home when they released it during a fundraiser, and it gets better every time. I love this country!

This is so much a man's song, but Delta and Colin so beautifully nail this song in a way that makes me love their version more than the original version I heard so many decades ago. It makes me again wonder why so many people I know hate "cover" songs.

Colin this song is an anthem for many but for myself being the firstborn of European migrants from the early 60s this song became the bridge for my emerging identity as I was growing up.
