The others never understood, the more they tried to attack Hurrem and drive a wedge between her and the Sultan, the more he would want her. Also his marriage to Hurrem was a two edge sword. The Sultan got what he wanted and punished them the worst way possible.
After Marriage, Mustafa 's position automatically lowered despite he was eldest prince as his mother was concubine and Hurrem's children became. legal heirs as she was legally wedded wife
not really. ottoman traditions are not like western traditions where the sons of the legal wife would have a higher chance of obtaining the throne. in ottoman empire, every son had the right to fight for the throne, all of their chances are equal. it’s up to them if they’re willing to fight to death for it (since the future sultan has to kill his brothers when he ascends the throne)
Didn't happen really, sultan's all children were treated equal no matter whose children they were, Mustafa's position was the same as the other princes and his mother being a concubine and step mother being the wife of his father doesn't make any difference Dynastic blood is always above anyone in the place Kosem let Osman become the sultan despite not being her biological son and his mother being a concubine The only thing that matters is if their father the existing sultan or not
@@iconicsolos1234in real history Kosem didn't adopt Osman. But we know another situation when Perestu became Valide under Abdelhamid, although she wasn't his biological mother.
Being the legal wife she also became equal in stature with Suleiman . She did not have to bow to anyone including his sisters ...so this is incorrectly portrayed in the series
@@fly89nah, when suleyman married hurrem, she is already above every woman in the empire except for valide sultan. hatices ranking was below her, if we are being historically accurate. its only when valide sultan passed away that hurrems power grew even more
@@fly89after Suleiman married Hürrem, Valide was dead and Suleiman put Hürrem above everyone except himself meaning everyone her children step children and all the concubines have to bow to her that includes Suleiman's own sisters possessing dynastic blood
Which as you said couldn't accept but wouldn't accept as well .... she's so selfish and full of herself just because she'd mustafa. Suleyman knew, heard and saw everything that's going in his own harem and palace. That's why he freed Hureem and married her. And yet mahidrevan never accepted it. It's Suleyman's who telling everyone that now it's up to him to choose who he wanted to be the crown prince. Mustafa's not the only one .....
16:29 Well, I agree that Hurrem led to a bad fate of Mahidevran but i agree with Hurrem here... She was right that a prince had to act like a prince not be brainwashed for power. It was what led to death of Mustafa in the end
Mahadevan should have been born in the UK because she keeps telling Hurrem that Mustafa was a crown prince when the Ottoman didn't have such a thing as a crown prince but the surviving prince
Isn't that logic? How would you feel being in her shoes? She was not even allowed to leave with her head up. She was supposed to stay...unwanted, unloved, humiliated :(
@@hanakrsakova2894 She had a son. She could have devoted herself to raising him fully, instead of being committing treason and getting axed in his prime by his own father. Life’s a beach.
base on this series ... the biggest mistake Mustafa made which lead to his death, was expecting Hurem's children love him so much while he his direspectful towards their mother when most of the issue was caused by his own mother.... The funny things about him, he can be disrespectful towards hurem in front of mihirimah, but when mihirimah do the same to his mother he shisshh mihiramah. For ordinary family may be it's ok for Mustafa to be blinded by his love towards his mother (even his mother was the one that cause most of the trouble ). But for a dynasty with that kind of love towards that kind of mother, he cant be a good king... since his mother only care about her personal matters (just see how she spends the harem money) ...
