I vow to never buy another Hewlett Packard printer at this time because of the way they're holding customers hostage with the printer ink, signed CB, just bought this one a year ago. Isn't there a law against this? Once it goes out I'm out.
I have done all the steps and downgraded my m283fdw to a 2020 firmware version, it says so when i check it in printer but it sill wont use my 3rd party toners. Any ideas?
Problem is the HP Smart app and Inkjet 6960 blocks access to the service button. So we can't select allow downgrades. A few more initial steps is required...

I mange to do all steps in this tutorial and downgraded drivers from 2020 to 2015 version and disabled auto update and printer work with non HP cartridge BUT when i connect to my router and give printer access to internet error 79 is insta back and printer is bricked. Version is still 2015 it didnt auto update. Any suggestion? Printer is HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425dn

I have the old firmware for an 8025. But when I try to downgrade, it says the firmware is up to date and doesn't give me the option to update. Any help?

If downgrading is not possible, there may be two possibilities: 1. Your printer is already using this version firmware; 2. HP no longer supports firmware downgrading. If it is the first possibility, you need to find an even earlier version to downgrade or purchase a new compatible cartridge. Our engineers are still verifying the second possibility, but what we can confirm is that the firmware for HP 8025 can no longer be downloaded from the HP official website. If HP no longer publicly releases firmware downloads in the future, all firmware upgrades will be automatically downloaded by the printer, and downgrading will not be possible. We recommend that you turn off automatic updates.
