AWESOME! THANK YOU! I was pulling my hair out trying to do this using other bootable USB methods that just went no where. This WORKED!! (Bought a 2018 Mac mini factory sealed. Came with MacOS 12 installed. I NEEDED MacOS 10.15 for App compatibility, which is why I bought it since my iMac 2020 wouldn't run the software.) I had a few issues using this method, but they were my mistake I will list them here to help others: • I had forgotten to put a space after "--volume". This is important. • I didn't have Internet connected, and the Installer needed to verify installation. It cancelled. I connected to internet and then the installer completed.
Thank you very much. I did a slightly simpler version than this but I managed to downgrade from Ventura back down to Catalina because that’s what I bought my laptop with. Then I downloaded Monterey from the Apple website link to the store and now my Macintosh is Monterey ! If I can do it, honestly anyone can do it. At first it appeared difficult but as long as you back up everything and then erase the Macintosh, then you’re good to go as you’ve laid the foundation. But if you recently bought your MacBook with Ventura, then this way in the video is most effective. God bless !
@@nine27 I think so, honestly can’t remember but something came up my screen, I agreed and it went blank and started from the very beginning. When I signed in I made sure to download Monterey via a link to the Apple Store (if you search it you won’t find it) and my MacBook updated to Monterey. I would avoid doing automatic updates as it will update itself to the latest version otherwise, which you may not be ready for if your other apps are incompatible
@@racheloshaksmusic oh yeah I know. 20 plus year apple user ready to jump ship for windows in the near future. But yeah I know what needs to be done. Figured it out. They have so many ways it could be done well a few but still wanted to make sure it was done right so.. thanks for getting back to me though it is appreciated
Excellent step by step instructions! I had Open Core Legacy Patcher installed on my 2015 MBP and wanted to go back to the native installation of Monterey. This helped a lot. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial, I brought a MacPro with ventura OS installed in unsupported Mac and was very fast until I upgraded a Security patch, after that was extremely slowly. With this tutorial to degrade to an old version of OS you help me a lot .. thxs
Was your mac unsupported to ventura? I upgraded my unsupported mac to ventura from catalina. But now i want to downgrade it to monterey from ventura. Is that what you did? Please reply.
Absolute nuts of me to have followed through this tutorial. Surely my Mac OS was downgraded but I lost ALL of my default settings and applications need to be redownloaded. SUCH A PAIN IN MY ARSE. I regret immensely to have trusted this tutorial as the source of my problems. Now it only created MORE problems for me!
Did you not do a back up first? Generally when you change OS it erases everything you had before, best to back up but yes, a few default settings will just have to be readjusted
that what i was looking for, great work. but can you tell us which one was better? ventura or catalina for mackbook pro mid 2012... iam waitting your answer
I have late 2011 MacBook Pro and I had installed macOS Catalina and it work like sharp blade very fast no problems then I decide to upgrade to macOS Ventura and now my computer seems to run slower and always very hot something I didn’t had while running Catalina so now I’m gonna downgrade see if I can go back to what I had before.
Mostly Macbook Pro 2012 models support up to Ventura cause they had successfully runs in it with Metal capable..so no regrets in it as it was still the great machine for the devices..
any solution unable to login appleID after downgrade from Sonoma to Monterey? when i tried login to my appleID, Software Update Required, Update This Macbook Pro To The Latest Version of macOS
Hello Mayunix. I followed your tut and everything worked fine except from my MacBook Air 2017 keyboard light and right click isn’t functioning. Please kindly help me out on this. Thank you as I wait your prompt response
@@racheloshaksmusic i see, i press the "Option-Command-R." To Reinstall my computer's original version of macOS. (Ventura sure take all of my cpu power for minor task)
@@jamemadison6499 yeah I upgraded to Ventura from Big Sur and regretted it as a musician. Battery goes down quick too. So I backed everything on my external hard drive for Time Machine, erased my Macintosh HD, downgraded to Catalina (that’s what I bought my laptop with), logged in, downloaded Monterey from Apple website App Store, and then it allowed me to update to Monterey and now I have Monterey. I took ages, maybe about 1 hour 30mins to do all this.
I am now using ventura and battery health is down to 94% from 98% is it a factory reset or downgrade Will the battery health return to 98%? . Please help me
