After a whirlwind 48-hours attempting to test four downhill bikes, we woke up Sunday morning and tossed around high-fives at the site of blue skies. We might have been down a test rider, but we had weathered Saturday’s thunderstorms, fixed up any and all mechanics, and were determined to make up for lost time on our last day at Mountain Creek Bike Park.
In a mad-dash to finalize our ‘Bottom Line’ impressions, we banged out laps until the lifts closed and then sat down to give out final thoughts on how each bike performed.
To check out our entire Downhill Bike Test Sessions, including individual reviews of each bike tested, head to www.vitalmtb.com
And make sure to add Mountain Creek to your list of must-visit bike parks. You won’t be disappointed! - mountaincreek.com
Thanks for watching!

Something important to note is that If someone buys the Jedi with an EXT the shock will come set up for that specific rider.

Its getting ridiculous how many fox shocks are failing doesnt matter if its coil or air ... though the Air shocks are cursed or maybe can say poorly made ?

Hey man, I’m looking to get started in the world of mountain biking. What interests me the most is the style of riding at bike parks and I live in the south east. So like beech mountain, sugar mountain, maybe Kanuga, pisgah, and snowshoe. So primary riding would be downhill with some uphill sprinkled in occasionally. I was hoping for some guidance on which way to go for a bike. I like the trek bikes and was thinking about the slash which is labeled as enduro. 170/160 mm travel. Would a dedicated downhill bike like the session be too much with 200mm? Or should I back off even further to the fuel EX with 140. Thanks

If you plan on pedaling at all, don't get a full DH bike. There's a lot of pedaling at Kanuga and Pisgah (although Rock Creek DH park is open now), as well as the fingers at snowshoe. With the current market of bikes nowadays, it's hard to pick a bad Enduro bike. I would start looking for features, like frame storage, adjustability, or bottle mounts. Also beech sucks

If you want to go fast I recommend Santa Cruz V10 for a DH bike but if you want a trail bike I’m not the guy for it lol. If you want some advices on parts reply to me

Hello Tyler, Recent trek bikes have couple issue in the drive train without mentioning the crazy price tag on them. For your situation, I will recommend you couple bikes that are mainly made for downhill but you wont have a harsh time climbing. You got the canyon torque. ( good price/performance) The YT Capra Core 4 (best price/performance) Commencal ( I personally like the clash ) On the more expensive and fancy side you have Santa Cruz, Orbea and Yeti. I would personally take the Canyon Torque with Sram and ZEB build 😉

Nah any company damper is shit. I say get a Rockshox,Fox,Ohlins,Manitou,Intend,Canecreek,Formula,D.VO and take your time setting it up it would be the best suspension. Chassis only matter fuck the damper, I recommend Manitou Dorado for the chassis and take your time setting it up it would be better than Rockshox Boxxer and especially better than Fox this 2 brands can have the best adjustability in fork settings but the chassis of the fork sucks
