I had a great time visiting California back in June 2018 and had a great time at #bikercamp2018 riding with B1ker, BKXC, Paul the Punter, and so many more youtubers. After my first trip down #Downieville CA, Paul and Brian convinced me to add one more shuttle to my day. With that came the $100 bet that I couldn’t make my next shuttle…. That sketchy section at 53:10 with the cliff going down off the narrow trail was scary to watch . Also, it's not rude at all to ask riders ahead of you to let you by. Just say "coming through" or something along those lines and they should let you through no problem.

I’m more shocked the Gimbal And GoPro batteries lasted that long... Not gonna lie, I’m not gonna watch an hour of footage to find out haha. Was a rad day and stoked to finally meet you! One day I’ll have to come up your way!

Most people won’t watch the whole thing! The gimbal easily can do 3 hours, the battery on the other hand is impressive! Great to meet you too man! Can’t wait to ride again!

Nice, man! You shouldn’t feel so bad about passing. It’s courteous to move to the side if you are moving slower, and it’s courteous to ask to pass if you’re trying your hardest. Great riding though!

You could have easily taken off 15 min if you would have taken the quickest route possible. Pavement-Butcher fire road-Butcher-3rd-upper 1st-fireroad into town.

Daily MTB Rider The Downieville DH Classic goes down the fire road after sunshine and connects right before the “gorge”. The pedally section of upper Butcher is new and much slower. And when $100 is on the line, everything would be fair game in my mind. Lol

Well the "classic" used to begin where upper butcher crosses the dirt road. They used to have us line up for the start of the downhill on the dirt road. Weir was doing it in sub-40min back then...best I could ever manage was 55min. I recall a dude doing it on a rigid in right around an hour.

Question for people that work, live or ride a lot in this area...how often do people fall off those cliffs? It has to happen, right? I crash on the trails by me and end up in a pile of leaves or worst case scenario slam into a tree. Parts of this trail look like a mistake equals death!

I watched the whole thing! Umm, "a funny animal" I don't know that you should feel bad for passing people. Unless that's a west coast thing, maybe? I get passed all the time because Im pretty slow, but I am never upset at the person who does it as long as they let me know politely that they want to come by, ie "Mind if I come by" or "on your left". "MOVE!" would be less pleasant. I wish we had downhills like that in Ohio...

At the very end of my second shuttle I felt the say way. I had no idea where I need to go and was watching the clock because I needed to return the bike before the shop closed. Didn't remember if I needed to go left or right and really no one was around at the end of the day.

I love unedited video and no music overdubs. I watched the whole thing and it was great. I am starting back into cycling after being out for 10 years from a road bike. This time I got an e mountain bike because of my back trouble and legs. I hope to get to mountain trails, but if not, I will live vicariously through videos, and stay on pavement.
