Doesn't "supported" just mean verified performance improvement in this context?

@@satanfornoskit it means that nvidia enabled RE-BAR in this specific game via driver profiles. if game isn't supported, re-bar is disabled. So LTT's testing methodology is meaningless. Nvidia does enable re-bar only in games that will see performance benefit. Games that are not enabled by nvidia could see performance regression or no difference. But we will not see that regression EXCEPT if we'll manually force re-bar enabled for an unsupported game in Nvidia inspector (which is clearly not what LTT did, they just compared OFF to OFF and produce wrong conclusions)

Shouldn't we test at 4k too? Just thinking since this feature affects the efficiency of access to VRAM, would it potentially have it's most effective application in games where high VRAM usage would normally become an issue for the GPU? I'd be interested to see it tested with a fully reBAR optimised game in 4k with say a 3070.

Just a question here. Would the game have to support resizeable bar as well? It's like how some people think more cores for gaming is better but games are normally made for single threaded workload. So the couple of games that have random improvements (~5%) might be more random.

Did you scroll to comments to figure out wtf is going on with the chocolate? Well, for those who want to understand the good ol' "chocolate trick" then this is how it _breaks down_ : You get the "extra piece" from the expense of chocolate bar's full length. The extra piece comes from the diagonal cut, as it would otherwise leave a small gap across the chocolate bar, but the illusion here is to tighten the gap. The total body ratio of chocolate shrinks just enough to produce the extra bite :) Enjoy my dear fellow viewers!

I was surprised to find that my RTX 3060 had this right from day 1. ASUS/TUF released a BIOS update a little while ago and allowed me to enable it. I would say I received a 3-4% performance bump. Nothing CRAZY, but hey ... it's free

I think the relative graphs would benefit from actually being made to look relative. There's a graph (I forget its name now) that's a centered vertical bar and then the actual changes extend as bar graphs to the left/right sides to communicate -X and +X changes respectively, so the 102% would simply look as +2% and the 97% would just show up as -3%.

My ram has 3600MHz speed, yet whenever I look at the default frequency it says 1066MHz. I tried going into the BIOS to fix this and it says I have it set to 3600MHz, yet it still says that the default frequency is 1066MHz. Any fixes? Thanks

Same as last time: Addressing more than 256MB was possible before as it is a base-feature of PCIe. Any PCIe endpoint (like a GPU) must provide 1 barsize (default 256MB) during the handshake (initialisation of the device) and can offer as many as 6 different sizes, and you could very well just set it to 256 GB even. And resizeable BAR - as the name implies - allows dynamic adjustment of the BAR-size.

With the performance uplift seen in AC valhalla, which was developed with AMD's support, it seems like this feature is really going to start shining once game developers actually make use of it by implementing it correctly.

I managed to get a hold of one last friday. Physically in stock. Although I did overpay... Lucky though. The one who originally ordered it already did before and the store has a one maximum per customer. Still. They only had two. It's going crazy. GPUs are a currency. Can't wait till production is just ok and when the whole mining craze dies.

Nvidia should enable resizable BAR for 10 and 20 series. Any performance improvement, even 1%, would be very beneficial in this time where people cant get there hands on new GPUs due to massive GPU shortage.

Thos applies to Intel SATA RAID drivers too. There are forums who benchmark each release of these drivers. So I downloaded the highest spees drivers for my Dell latitude which has Intel raid built in

@@vanilla4064 8th and 9th gen Intel processors also support it, as long as the mobo's manufacturer added support for it (Gigabyte for example added it on my Z390 Pro in january). But it's definetly worth giving the mobo a check before since there are some boards/manufacturers that only support 10th and 11th gen.

@@funnyepic7054 They probably left it out as AMD was the one laying claims on it with it being a selling point. That and it helps to cut down on the amount of data they would need to show. I'm sure in the future we will get a follow up video comparing the performance of the two companies head to head on it.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT!! I've recently bought a new motherboard ( Asus Prime Z390-A Motherboard ) and one of my good friends took apart my computer and replaced my old motherboard with the new one I mentioned. after all of that I get home and I start trying to play games and I'm noticing really bad lag all throughout my system, this is lag I've never experienced. a few days go by I keep booting up my system and I notice the RGB on my motherboard goes out when I turn the computer on but comes back on when I turn the computer off. now in present day my Ram is also starting to do the same exact thing as my motherboard. I'm just so confused what's going on with my system. if anyone has any idea what the problem could be please let me know. Thanks.

Some of AMD's recent releases only function at PCIe 4.0. How are these going to function in PCIe 3.0 boards? PCIe 3.0 is far from being completely saturated so unless it is purposely crippled it should work. What say you Intel? Can these GPUs work on PCIe 3 machines?
