A landslide is a type of natural disaster where a mass of rock, earth, or debris moves down a slope due to gravity. A landslide inventory is a detailed register of the spatial distribution, geometry, and attributes of landslides and is essential for landslide hazard analysis, risk management, regional planning, and land use management and development, especially in landslide-prone regions. NASA is building the biggest open global landslide inventory with the help of citizen scientists.
