I don't remember it being mentioned, but another benefit of this is that reduces overall tx/rx between you and your ISP, so it helps avoid hitting a monthly data cap if you have one.

I'm from Korea, 1G(100mb/s) internet is available almost everywhere but I downgraded the service to 100mb cause it is cheaper. $23 for 1G and $ 15$ for 100mb. 100mb is still good for watching netflix in 4K. I feel slow only when I download games. it takes 83min for downloading 50Gb but with giga internet just 8min

I thought about doing this since Steam rarely lets me download from them faster than ~1.2gbps and even then, it's not a sustained 1.2gbps, it'll jump between like 700mbps to 1.2 which is meh. On the other side of the coin though, most games I play are 10gb or smaller(usually around the 8-10gb range though) so it's not that big of deal that it'd be worth building a caching server for. I don't really think it'd be worth it to host a few terabytes of games to save myself a couple minutes once in a while when I go to redownload and reinstall games. Not sure why I delete them too begin with since I don't need the space anywho......

Actually, you don't need to use sudo in the command for installing the Docker (as it's already used in the downloaded installation script). Also, sudo is applied to the first command of pipe only, so you're basically using curl with sudo privileges, but not sh.

I have a 1000/1000 Mbit. What I do is I have a NAS with a Server/NAS HDD in it for all my games I play off that NAS so far, i have not seen any preference difficulties. It runs as fast if it was on my PC, or it feels that way not done any real testing since I'm happy as long it runs smooth. My goal is to have all 2000 steam games I have on my steam on it and see if i can link up all my other pcs and then play the game from whatever pc without any big hassle. Just like a plex server just with steam, if that makes sense. And check if different steam profiles will fuck it up.

either way the launch was disappointing they just sold you on the ray-tracing abilities of the new cards. and said the 2070 was faster than 1080ti but didnt tell us how they were faster. and they are also super expensive.

I got my internet up to 115 mb/s just now, downloading Battlefield 2042 and it took me like 5 min, this is an accomplishment since before, my internet used to be like 20 kb/s and it would be faster to just watch videos on my phone on data than to be on wifi
