In this on-demand webinar, walk through the Synthace Miniaturized Purification solution and the stages of a downstream process optimization campaign using scale-down, high-throughput process development (HTPD) tools.
Lucia Dunajová, Senior Research Scientist at Synthace, and Victoria González, Product Manager at Synthace, present Downstream Process Optimization with Synthace. They:
- Discuss the benefits of HTPD tools with a focus on filter plates and OPUS® RoboColumns®, for downstream process development on Tecan® devices;
- Highlight the importance of data and metadata tracking at different steps of your process;
- Show you how Synthace can help you design, execute and gain insights from scale-down purification experiments, while leveraging Design of Experiments (DOE), with some real-life examples from our lab.
In downstream processing, there is no perfect ‘one size fits all’ process for the range of new products that come through the biomanufacturing pipeline. Therefore, downstream process optimization is essential but can still be highly time, effort, and resource intensive.
Scale-down, high-throughput process development (HTPD) tools have been instrumental in making process optimization more efficient as they make use of automation, need fewer materials, and allow the investigation of a high number of different purification conditions in a single experiment.
In combination with a Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology, scientists can gain a comprehensive understanding of their process prior to scaling up. However, planning, programming automation, and wrangling the data for such experiments can be challenging, time-consuming, and require specialist training.
