Correct Jeff. When the hips move in and the handle of the club runs at the ball because there is no space the club head gets stuck and can bottom out before the ball. I have a 2 part series coming out next week that will help as well.
@@BillyFitzgeraldGolf thanks so much for the prompt reply. I know my right hip and knee go towards the ball in transition. Look forward to your next video 👍🏻
ping7979- without seeing video it sounds like your hands get trapped behind your body on the way down. Try hitting some balls with a staggered stance by pulling your trail foot back and keeping your trail heel on the ground through impact to allow your swing to get in front of your rotation on the way down.
Yes John and it also can tell you a lot of how your lower body is doing dynamically. Players that early extend or move to close to the ball have a hard time not running the grip into the ball. So this concept can also be an examination of what’s going on in other parts of the swing.
@@BillyFitzgeraldGolf It is the training of different body motions patterns where the real work lies, I had early extension and could not get rid of it when hitting balls ,the instinct was too strong so I took 6 months off and worked on the correct motions at home and made sure I did the motions right first just the body motions then with a club in my hand hitting a smash bag at home or cutting long thick grass. Now early extension is gone for good, I could not have done it hitting balls, I also trained myself to swing correctly left handed at the same time and can now play golf both ways, getting the pivot right was actually easier starting from scratch left handed than trying to get years of grooved swing deseases out of my system right handed. The key is looking to develop the right motions and being patient and just chipping away at it bit by bit looking for small improvements which accumulate over time. Quick fix is bullshit, it is just not real.
