Hi Adam, my dad and I watch all of your videos. He’s in St Cloud Florida, and I’m just outside of Chicago. Knowing your love of the monorail, I think you would find more information about the “train” you’ve been showing the last couple days festinating. It’s called the L short for elevated train. And it was originally started in 1892 with steam engines, when it expanded in 1894 they went to electric engines powered by a 3rd rail, which is still used today. So you have the monorail at Disney. And 3 rails here. Also while most of the rails are elevated above the city it is also like a subway and goes underground. Wikipedia has a great article about it if you’re interested. Have a great last few days here. And I look forward to your post everyday.
Adam, can’t believe it, you were only a couple of blocks away from the Michigan Ave Bridge. And it was cold. Perfect place to “stamp your feet” 🤣. Loving the Chicago videos, enjoy your stay.
The sights and sounds of the Loop. WOW its been years since I've been there. The train (as you are calling it) is the "L" for elevated. The downtown area is called the Loop. I was just a kid when we moved from Chicago to Miami. Thanks for the memories, Adam.
I live in Chicago, it's great that you and Tampa Jay are here vloging this huge and wonderful City. Out of State vlogers don't realize there is so much to vlog here. Your right, you could vlog for a month here. Buckingham Fountain is not turned on and lit up in colors until mid May until mid October. If you can visit Lincoln Park zoo and the Botanical Gardens. Have fun!
2:40 Those were two different trains. The Brown, Pink, Green, Purple and Orange lines pass through the Chicago Loop (where you filmed that shot). The Red and Blue go underground through there. Thanks for visiting our area!
Kolchak The Night Stalker was my favorite show when I was a kid. His office was in the Old Colony Building. My first trip to Chicago, I went to the floor that INS would've been on & talked to the people there. Iirc, it was a law office. They were all young & had never heard of Kolchak. 😐
I get a feeling you were missing your monorails showing the trains so many times. I remember the couple of times I visited Chicago it was cool seeing the train going overhead and people walking and driving cars underneath it. - The skyline in the bean was really cool looking. It did look like a painting. - Funny how you three went all the way to Chicago only to get reminded of Florida (especially the advertisement for Tampa). - I wish they still made sitcoms like Married with Children. I thought that show was really funny.
HEY ATW...WOW!! TODAY'S VLOG WAS INCREDIBLY ENTERTAINING! You see Chicago all the time on television, but what you've shown is like nothing else I've seen. That "KOLCHAK -THE NIGHT STALKER" was a deep cut! The BEAN!?!! That was something to see. This episode is a 3 view! I will watch it at least 3 times!
Dear Adam, More and more, I find all so many RU-vid vloggers who have been inspired by you. I am truly amazed at how many people you have inspired to set foot upon this crazy, but rewarding, path of producing RU-vid videos. I don't think you will ever know just how many people's lives you have touched. You are such a good man. Sincerely, Richard
After watching today’s video I feel like I need to appreciate our L- train system more! You have inspired me to take a minute away from planning our Disney trips and plan a trip to take the kids downtown and enjoy some of my own city through tourist eyes. Thank you!
Adam, I haven't been to Chicago in some time. It's definitely an exciting city, with so much to see. Those "L" trains are cool. Thanks for the sites you shared. Hoping you and the guys have a super time, at the game, and all.☀️🤠💛
Also skydeck Chicago is incredible there, inside the Willis tower and it takes you on an elevator ride to the 103rd floor and you can step onto a glass box and you can take photos on there too.
Never realized the Adventures in Babysitting building was so short. Or that Route 66 had a starting and end point in 2 separate places in Chicago. The Tampa Bay references were surprising too!!
Nice , I have done this vlog a few times myself. I have stayed at alot of those hotels , The Congress , Essex etc.. over the decades . Cool watchin you guys do it. Chicago !
Woo and friends: Thank you very much for this! I haven't been back to Chicago where i was born since 2000. The sites and sounds make me homesick! I really hope to introduce my children and grandchildren to this beautiful , amazing, fantastic city. I want to do our visit in the summer when the fountain is all lit up and beautiful water show. I remember having a hard time staying awake on my L trips growing up. The sounds and the rocking felt so very soothing to me. The guy from Cheers in SNL Da Bears skit is George Wendt.
To make a visit to Chicago is on my bucket list! Video is awesome Adam! Beautiful skyline! I like the trains too! Never knew the intro to Love and Marriage was filmed in Chicago!
Same happened to me the first time I went out to Chicago…I saw a dry fountain too in April. I had to go back in the summer to see it. Great trip btw, can’t wait to see what you think of Wrigley. Too bad the ivy wont be green yet.
Your caffeinated beverage no longer piping hot was "half full". Glad you and your friends were having a "good day". Adam your positive outlook and your ability to extract happiness from common things is why you have such a large following. " The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things". Henry Ward Beecher.
"I don't know if I wanna wander the streets of Chicago at 3 am" 🤣😆🤣💀💀💀 Too funny! I love that you're in my city! Wabash was my old stomping ground during my Columbia College days. very cool to see some of my favorite places. Thx!
Cool! I don't remember you traveling north very much. If you get the chance, checkout Wisconsin Dells, or take a tour on the river there or visit the Harley Davidson museum in Wisconsin. Awesome vid, love the channel.
He hasn't been to Wisconsin since he was still in his band looking back on his videos. And I've been following him for years and he's never here. Yet his friend Carpet Bagger is in Wisconsin all the time. Wisconsin is one of the very few states he never visits. But at least the Carpet Bagger loves Wisconsin. In fact the "House on the Rock" he even listed as probably his favorite all-time attraction to see. Too bad Adam never seems to make his way any further north than Chicago. It's like Chicago has this invisible barrier he never crosses. LOL! 😅
I'm loving this series! It looks like you're having a blast in Chicago. I wish I knew you were coming to Naperville. You need to come back in the fall or winter, or deeper into spring. There's a lot of great restaurants in Downtown Naperville. I loved the laughing Lincoln. I live here and didn't know it was there.
Love this and you got the Cowbell guy there too?!!! Dudes EPIC weekend. Fabulous pics of The Bean. I'm scared to visit Chicago. I'm just 2 hours south of there. Haven't been since The State Museum in downtown Chicago, had the huge Harry Potter Exhibit in 2009. LOL
Thanks for sharing the city of Chicago out, much appreciated 👍🙂 Happy Easter Adam most of your people on the comment section are probably at church for Easter 🐇
You remember Kolchak The Night Stalker? I loved that show with Darren McGavin.🥰 When the serial killer "the night stalker" was reigning fear is soCal, all I could think of was The Night Stalker TV show!😱😱
I really enjoyed this! I haven't been to Chi-Town in a few years & definitely need a trip soon! I know you're only there a couple more days, but if you're looking for a UNIQUE pizza experience, instead of the typical deep dish places, I suggest the Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder on N. Clark Street. It's kinda midway between the city & Wrigley. They make a pizza pot pie! Also, order the Mediterranean bread! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Great Video Woo. I am a fan of you and your stuff. Very cool. Chicago is one of my favorite towns. You did a nice job brining it together. I thought for sure you would go to the softball field where Demi Moore and Rob Low talked during the movie about last night. The fields are just south of the fountain in Grant Park.
The Bean is very cool!! Been to Chicago many times, but never seen The Bean! Go Tampa Bay Rays!! Be safe! Wouldn't be out at night there. I hope you guys had a great time!!
I think the time I went to a game in Chicago in April was one of the most coldest spring days I have ever experienced, windy as hell …2nd time would be a game in Cleveland in April. Fun times 🙂
Chicago has a lot to see. I have been lucky enough to visit. But I swear every time I see Chicago, especially with the trains, all I think of is The Blues Brothers. The car chase seen is classic! And the pizza is pretty good too!
Eeyup! The railroad capital of North America. All train tracks on the continent lead to Chicago. Chicago is the center point of the world's largest railroad network. 🙂
I love the fact that when it was first built, the Buckingham Fountain was actually controlled from Atlanta, Georgia.... but now, it is controlled from Arlington Heights, a Chicago suburb.
Wrong. The fountain security is handled through Arlington Heights. The operation of the fountain was controlled by a Honeywell computer ( not since its opening, as computers didn't exist in the 1920s) in Atlanta until 1994, when it was moved back to its original source in its local pump house. Just east of the fountain, across Lake Shore Drive (a song reference missed by Adam) is Queen's Landing, where Queen Elizabeth II first set foot in Chicago in 1959, having arrived by boat.
@@dcoll1512 I am not talking about the security. I mean the water show controls. What I relayed is from the fountain web site. So, If I am wrong, the site is wrong.
So kewl that my favourite vloggers are in the same areas close together. Carpetbagger was in Chicago a month ago when he started his Route66 adventure.
So mad that I visited there earlier this month and missed ya. What I'd do to meet you and get a photo. You're the my all time favorite youtuber. You have taken us along with you on your journey. Showing us all things we want to see but never may have the opportunity too. Visit STL next. Hit me up 🤣 I live in St Louis. I would take you out to Crown Candy Kitchen. 😁
