I swear, a golf cart, and a high viz vest, and no one would mess with you. Even the cops would probably think you were supposed to be there for some reason.
As a kid we always stayed on hwy 192 with in 3 miles entrance to Disney. It was bustling back then. So sad to see it's went down hill since then. Disney now charge you to park at their resorts. I hope your oranges are better than what my my wife bought from the big orange in December of 2023. No flavor at all and started to rot after three days. Oranges I bought from Publix at home was far better. Thanks for the video.
Sometimes when I watch Adams videos it really makes me miss Orlando and the Kissimmee area when Adam goes down 192 really brings back a lot of memories..,..
I'm a little surprised they haven't made the movie theater into something like a playhouse where they could have shows or maybe a Celebration drama society could perform. It's just an idea. Also, maybe a dinner theater or something similar. It's a shame it's only wasted space right now.
Corporations don’t care about what makes sense to you. AMC is a very evil company, and they have very likely very evil intentions behind keeping that theater shuttered
So sad we use to stay on 192 back in 81 through 86 at the Days Lodge. It was a Mecca for Disney in those years. Then Disney built the Caribbean Beach in resort in 87 and 192 fell. 192 is a flea market today. I have lived in Central Florida for the last 24 years and maybe visited it twice. It’s painful to watch almost like a funeral.
I have a love hate relationship with abandoned content. It indulges my curiosity, but at the same time upsets me that something once so awesome has gone to waste. The history of that hotel is very interesting.
It hits me hard because growing up in the 2000’s my family would vacation in this area of Florida and it was so nice! But today it’s depressing and dated. It’s like they never updated buildings from the 90s
Huge fire at that abandoned hotel happened in July. We were staying at Vacation Village and the smoke was terrible. Heard it was a serial arsonist but never saw confirmation.
I just feel bad for the homeless ppl there because that place was opened up for them and I heard from somebody in the comments many including them had to leave cause of the fire damages
Thank you for your videos Adam. I will be very sad when you go but that's just how it is. You've entertained thousands and possibly millions for so long now. You deserve the best in your life.
I fondly remember the days when both Woo and CB would explore INSIDE many of these abandoned structures. I understand why they don't, now. But I still miss it.
Me and my family actually stayed at that rode way inn when we were in Florida in May 2022. It was actually one of those rooms that you were driving past up on the second floor
I grew up in the north east side of Orlando in the Winter Springs/Winter Park area and used to frequent Hwy 192 on occasion as a kid going to Water Mania and the various putt putt golf courses on that strip. There may have even been a go cart track…It used to be a happening area!
Loved seeing this, we used to stay in the 192 in the 90s and loved it, it’s a shame what’s happened to the area. We went to the American gladiators dinner show in 1997. I thought the last time we passed though in the 00s it had a church sign outside
Great to see Old Town again ! It was crowded when I was there about 9 years ago- bought some lovely geodes for a great price in one of the stores. Did the skyline….yikes ! It was a lot of fun.
I like these abandoned building videos. Kind of a nice change of place. But I'm surprised that someone doesn't fix them up and make them affordable housing or lodging or something like that being so close to WDW.
Adam, good afternoon. As you were riding your electric car around the old convention center, you mentioned you didn't want to go in or didn't see any zombies. If you look carefully as you are ridiing around, about 1/2 way thru, there is a guy on a 2nd floor area, that walks like from the stair area over the small walkways, into the building. He is going from left to right. You were not alone . . Be safe when in places like that, unless you have a buddy with you. Never know who you could run into.
Went there yesterday and drove through. It’s crazy that they allow leaving that hotel so trashed. Seen a few people scraping and a person sleeping in one bed. Reminds me of a horror movie back there.
Adam, really enjoyed your video with Jacob! Thank you for taking me along with y'all! Those oranges looked so yummy and delicious! Can't wait till your next vlog.
That operational resort at the back of the abandoned one - is that the Marriott Delta? I'm staying there in May and would love a tour/video of it Adam if you find time?
4:56 people like to steal U-Haul trucks take them to places like that and then go through them for things to steal…. I remember recently somewhere in the USA a guy walked up to one while they were going through it and he was shot dead by the crooks
A new entertainment district has its sights set on transforming the Interstate-4 and US-192 interchange near Walt Disney World. The Meyers Group submitted a Community Development Application in Osceola County earlier this month for the "Ovation" project, a 77-acre entertainment district which includes hotels, retail shops, restaurants, cocktail lounges or bars, offices, a Ferris wheel, and other attractions, according to documents obtained by FOX 35. There are three hotels listed on the plan; the biggest of which, located in the corner of the district, would have 350 rooms. The other two, located at either end of the district, would have 150 and 175 rooms, respectively.
I did. You're reading the state statute, but the counties have their own ordinances. It's illegal in my area of Orange unless the sidewalks were specifically designated for LSVs. I've seen sheriff's handing out tickets. Just a heads up.
These places were probably great places to stay in the 80s and 90s. As Disney started building moderate and value resorts, people probably started staying on property.
Hey friend I saw you that day I waved to you guys at the light. I’m always traveling 192 somewhere trying to find something to film. anyway that place is scary inside the day I was there. Perhaps I’ll see you around sometime peace ✌️
I wouldn't be surprised if the vehicles you saw at the Orlando Sun hotel/resort were #Urbex videographers, or maybe they are #scrappers. The location where Arabian Nights used to be is called Vacation Villages at Parkway (VVP), a timeshare like DVC or Wyndham.
Have u ever been on the otherside of 192 in awhile towards, I think it's called Island h2o, I used to live on that side of 192 a couple yrs ago and it was going downhill then..I knw there used to b a mini golf it's not there anymore I dnt think, n the burger king went out too .😊
That is so sad looking at all those abandoned building s😢 i bet it was history an memories for alot of people in Florida Thank you ,Adam for documenting those places .nice to see carpetbagger .Adam driving his Mini Marge hot .latte Mexican spice at my planet perk , watching the woo
Cool. You should "kick it old school" and explore those abandoned buildings, you know, when Adam the Woo would go on adventures for you and not even ask your mom.
These abandoned hotels and businesses are an eye sore for such a Touristy location. The city should step in and start offering the land on which these abandoned hotels buildings etc are on at a discounted price With the hopes that some developers would build something on it tthat would inprove the area.
I’ve always loved Old Town since I was a kid. In my latter 30’s now but it’s always been a must-do on any trip to 192/WDW. Stayed in those attached suites back when they first opened & loved being 30 feet away from it.
All of this is so sad. The whole country has places like this. Why do the cities let these buildings sit so long. It makes everything look so bad. Just don't understand this. Someone should take down the black flag. We don't want our country going down hill. Good video Adam, we all should know what's going on.
Trillion dollars for satellites to watch America rot...no money for anything else. Thanks to Operation Paperclip Germ-man Hessian scientist just having fun. Heck the Hessian Queen made Pearl Harbor Hirohito a Knight of the Garter. " Priorities."
The blight encourages the masses to stay hopeless, goes along with the bread and circuses. A better question is why and how our capitalistic society got to this point? Amongst the richest countries on Earth. Smh
Adam. Can you look into 5565 Irlo Bronson? You said you stayed here with your family once. What i do know is that it was a Home Suite Home. Closed, then scheduled to open as Banyon micro Suites in 2020. Closed. Today, advertised as The irlo Apartments. Not sure if that opened. It's a cool mid century building. PS When you drove across 192 from the bubble to the Sun resort!
Used to stay in places like this as a kid taking road trips with my patents. Some of the motels were abit sketchy back then. Now, the whole area needs bulldozed and returned to nature.
Every time I have gone up to the Kissimmee area. I see that Sun resort property, it's been empty for years, I would think something would have been done with that propert by now instead of being empty for so long. It's such a great location At I4 and 192.
Of course, they test the alarms througout the shopping complex while you're filming! I'm surprised you didn't discover an army of leaf blowers in the parking lot. :)
Today was quit fun riding around or Orlando in Mini Marge with you and Carpetbagger and I must say exploring the places you drove to was great also stopping off at some of the stores you stopped at was quite interesting and the big orange is a store I really like so I’m very interested in the progress of that store, thank again, now with 5hat peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you peace ☮️ out✌️
