Indianapolis is amazing city and beautiful. Nice museum, zoo, shopping mall, stadium, restaurant. My brother were there Indy his hometown. His favorite 🏈 team is colts. 💘 you indianapolis. 🏆 🌞
Well I was born and raised in Indianapolis and we who live here don't call it Indy. I really miss the way the downtown used to be with all of the wonderful department stores gone and dime stores. L S Ayres, Blocks, Wassons, Penny's, Woolworth. Now the place reminds me of a college town with all of the bars and silly shops I have no real interest in. And all of the expensive apartments down there. Ridiculous - I bought a 1945 bungalow in 1986 with a garage, fenced in yard and my payments were not $1,500 per month and now I own it free and clear. Downtown is NOT NYC or Times Square and never will be.
Also, Indianapolis bus system is one of the best I have seen anywhere if one would desire to see the city safely and inexpensively. Most all routes converge in downtown then transfer to most all distance points. Mixed people, never had any serious problems with too stupid behavior. A monthly bus pass and in less than a couple of months I learned the city better than many of the locals. Of course a personal car does better . However parking is an issue but riding a bus I took notes of streets and neighborhoods. Like all urban areas, there are areas more dangerous than others. Life experiences have shown me if I travel different hoods, as long as I acted civil, I never encountered much trouble.
I'm age 52 , at about age 10 my grandma took me on a trip to either, S. Louis , Indianapolis , or miniapolis , pardon he last spelling, but we went to the down town are n there was a restaurant or bar that had a red phone booth as the entrance, n it was so neat. I have looked for years w/ no luck. Do you know if there is such a place in Your city? I did find one recently in Atlanta . Thank You. Nice city .
It's not anyone's fault they got into that situation. If people worked for their money they can to. Most of them are fake anyways. I know plenty of fake homeless people.
