It's been several years since I had last been in the city of Salt Lake and it was a pleasant surprise! I had the opportunity to spend a beautiful weekend in the downtown area while celebrating the marriage of a some good friends. It seems that after the Olympics in 2002, the city has progressively changed and is quickly becoming a hip, metropolitan haven for young adults. I was pleasantly surprised to see LGBTQ flags draped over restaurant windows and multiple breweries across town. A few cool spots I'd recommend are the queer-friendly Alibi Bar and Quarters Arcade Bar--come on, it's booze AND video games! For surprisingly cheap and delicious dimsum, check out New Golden Dragon just a few miles outside of town, and don't forget to snag a local specialty "dirty soda" before you leave town.
What other cities should I explore?
