It's a lovely watch. It's almost impossible to get the bracelet off anyway so I've never worried about the lugs. You literally need a vice to get it off. Practically impossible to do at home without damaging the watch.

Gethin, I pulled the trigger on the 1500T Searambler. It’s an awesome watch. It’s going to get a lot of wrist time. My pip is also slightly off. Decided to keep it. If I look at the dial from an angle, it lines up nicely😂 It’s a beast of a watch but absolutely wearable.
Wow! Congratulations gtcih. 1500t is totally awesome. Huge wrist presence and Very eye catching. It's a pleasure to wear. It is a shame about the slight misalignment but I can promise you that I went to a watch shop that had every dial colour in stock and tried them all. Every one of them had the same problem so it isn't just that you are unlucky. For the beeeech!
I liked your review. Made me laugh. Doxa is going to be my next watch. I said that two watches ago! Just had to get the limited Capt. Willard and another Seiko. But that 1500 T is an awesome watch. I was considering getting the 300 T until I saw your video. The 1500T is not much thicker than my Planet Ocean 600 m. Case is a little bigger but I think it will wear well. I also prefer that bracelet over the 300T. However, the screw in bracelet end links will make it impossible to put a strap on it ( just my guess at this point). But I don’t see me wanting to change it out. So I’m sold on that watch. Just need to pull the trigger.
It will be a great choice. It is heavy and a lot larger than the 300t which I have. The 300 is far more comfortable for all day wear but if you are used to a Planet Ocean and like a big watch then it won't be a problem. I have not taken mine off the bracelet yet. It will be a pain to do without scratching anything but it's such a great bracelet I probably won't bother. Thanks gtcih.
I like the look of the 1500T bracelet as well. It seems like every couple years I get a little closer to buying a Doxa. Gethin which one would you keep if you had to choose one?
Excellent review and comparison with its smaller sibling, the sub300T. I like them, but I wish they had better lume. Bezel action is superior to Seiko.
Nothing is perfect. Lume is a huge problem with doxa. However I will say that it is an initial brightness thing. It glows for hours at a much reduced level once eyes are accustomed to the dark in the same way that others do. It does lack the brightness of our JDM friends after shining a black light at it. Seiko will never be beaten for lume! Thanks Inspector.
Thanks for the entertaining review. I'm tossing up between this and the Caribbean blue model. Have you compared both side-by-side? It's difficult to find a dealer in Australia
I have tried them all. It was the same for me. Hard time deciding between the Carribbean and Searambler. The Sharkhunter is also very good. I could have chosen the Carribbean easily and you can't go wrong with either.
@@bradd5961 If it's attention you want then the 1500 will provide it in spades. Whenever I wear it I often see people looking at my wrist as it's very eye catching. Gets a lot of attention! Be aware though that it will most likely have a bezel misaligned by one click. I have handled all dial colours and they all had the issue. Even all the ones I've seen on eBay have it. Not a big deal but for a nearly £2.5k watch it is disappointing.
@@gethinchristian I also think I need to see the Caribbean in person. I feel that white faces generally get more attention for some reason but that blue also seems to pop.
Although the size of the watch seems large the lug to lug is short, also the bezel and dial are smaller still. I bet ppl in the 6.5 + can wear this no problem depending on their taste and their wrist shape.
I am going to show my true watch gimp colours here and correct you man. The Alsta Nautoscaph Superautomatic was worn by Dreyfuss in Jaws. Now I will kill myself.
They were revived a few years ago I think. A really cool watch! You can see Doxa in the movie Sahara where it is worn throughout the film by Matthew McConaughey and very visible in many scenes. Best wishes for the new year Kevin.
