Doyle Dykes came by our HQ to teach us a thing or two about playing guitar as well as the legends that have influenced his guitar style. ##### godinguitars.com www.doyledykes.com/
I saw him with Granpa Jones in 1976 at a farm implement show to get out of work. Never heard of him. Baby faced kid, maybe 18 years old. Smoked, I mean smoked.
He had a couple of Olson guitars custom made in recent years and mostly uses them in the studio now. (I wouldn't be playing my Taylor and Guild guitars much anymore either if I could afford 15-grand for an Olson.) I believe the Godin's will be mostly used for stage work. Having said that, Godin will be coming out with a Doyle Dykes signature model very soon. It has an LR Baggs LB6 pickup merged with a mini-mic. There are some videos of it at YT, but they have lousy audio. Doyle has ONE good sounding video of the guitar on his FB page, but you have to scroll all the way down to his January 25th post to see it. Godin has it on their FB page too. I don't know why they haven't posted it on YT.
