The politicians in Texas (red ones) don't pass a law that requires these businesses to install a generator/s that supplies power to the entire complex. Texans get what they vote for. I am pulling my parents out of Grand Living where the rent is over 10k a month. Despicable they had to deal with this.
@@wa210 Politics or not, I can’t believe they don’t have the desire to install for themselves. That’s exactly it…. $10,000 a month and knowing that area gets storms you would think that it would be an automatic given that they have generators for this exact purpose.
@@shaneencalade4988 Yes you would think. Maybe they will if they want to stay in business while those 10k renters start exiting the building. My parents will be soon.
Texas legislature should pass a state that ALL senior living and assisted living facilities have a generator to power up the whole facilities. The Texas legislature should pass a law to revoke business operating permits if the generator has not been inspected and working properly. This is not an overstep in regulations this is a common sense regulation.
Yes it does. My parents are in a place that charges over 10k a month, and the generator only supplies power for 1 elevator, limited lights in hallways and kitchen facilities. Needless to say, their going to lose that rent money very soon.
There’s some expensive neighbors without power too. The newer neighborhood have underground cables so they never lost power. But even that is a big touch and go. Friend in new neighborhood lost power because her meter was ripped off her house. Another friend have also had a transformer blow - so they don’t have power
I was thinking the same thing. How odd of her to get on the news complaining about her parent’s condition while being in a building with electricity. Maybe she lives out of state?
This makes me so upset. The elderly are extra sensitive to hot temps and lack of air conditioning. They should be at the top of the repair lists along with medical facilities. I just read about a death at one of these places. This just isn’t acceptable. 😢
