After a long evening and into the night of fighting the forest fire with the Komatsu dozer we headed back the next day. The firefighters were short handed and needed more help as conditions are too dry.
Thanks for the video, appreciate the help you provide, I used to be a vol fireman in the mid 1970,s. It is difficult to explain in "laymen terms" what it's like to fight fires. Your videos provide valuable insight to help others not in the fire svc to understand the dedication required to do the job of a fireman. THANKS AGAIN !! STAY SAFE !!
DAVID Thanks for this video also. There are still real men in this world and you and you're brother are 2 of THE BEST Thanks again David God Bless Tom Long Island
That was a great video showing how fast fires can spread and how important it is to really get them mopped up. It also showed how important your roads were. Anything to speed up access to the fire and a place to lay all the hoses really helps.
Really cool video definitely bad circumstances but love the dozer action and the behind the scenes of a forest fire. Thanks for taking the time to make them.
That turf gets as dry as it is can smolder for ages, like the peat fires in Florida. And coal fires. Just smolder along and pop up anywhere at any time. You did good and I got a big chuckle about the gas can deal. You're getting to make up a little from freezing yourself now. Remain calm and have the best day you can have. A few years back a big fire was close to where we were working. Go home smelling like a BBQ every evening. GBWYall!
THANKS for sharing your time on tje firing line #$@¥ sorry I ment the fire line David. Damn them flames are popin up all over like wild fire ? 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤣😂see ya at the next one Mr.H
Takes weeks sometimes to get those underground stumps out... We have fires restart from two weeks to two months after the big ones here in Oz. Heartfelt sympathies to all involved in this over there - we know exactly what it's like...
The crews from New Jersey have been here all summer. Talked to a few at the Pancake breakfast 2nd wknd of July. That crew was just finishing their rotation.
Hi Dave!!😀😀 Wow I can't believe how dry it is up there by you guys. Down here in central Wisconsin it's been so wet this summer that I don't know if I could even start a fire. Usually by this time of the year it's really dry here also. Glad to see they got it out. Surprised that you guys didn't bring out the D6 for cutting breaks. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
I sure do miss my old job with the forestry commission....I wish they would pay alittle more...nothing like dropping at the anchor point n just going till ya reach the end.
Last video i told you lake county was in extreme fire warning. Welp, we currently on fire too now. We got that Greenwood lake fire and i think as of today it was 3,000 acres.
Not sure I understand the reason for the fire, is it to clear brush while you are putting in the new forest roads ready for logging this winter? 🤔. Seriously though good work all you good people, look after each other out there. Thanks for helping, have a great day.
You did a great job. You do need to learn that you are doing no one any good by not taking care of yourself. First FLUIDS, next eat and always pee and watch the color for dehydration. Clear to pale straw is good. Orange means see a medic NOW!
Do you ever get nervous operating a dozer that close to a fire and the knowledge it could flare badly at any tme? Am grateful for your just jumping in and helping out..Be safe
@@davidhaley7053 This summer has been warmer and drier than normal for us here east of the twin Cities, too. But the farmer crops are doing quite well, it seems we get the rains at the rite times. Although, we have had a couple wind storms, that laid some trees down in areas.
