For me it would be a dream come true if Peter makes a trilogy on the Halo series. He's pretty good at bringing fiction/fantasy movies to life. The Halo books got a boost from the game series. If he does the movies, bringing all the halo universe to life, that would be best thing that can happen to the halo franchise.

He's a great director, but I feel bad for him. He can never seem to maintain a healthy weight. One year he's in decent shape, two years later he's blown up again. It doesn't get any easier to lose the weight as you get older, either. I'm glad he's taking some time off to get things back in order.
@jed52

***** I've struggled with weight problems myself, so I know what it's like to be in great shape, and then revert back to my older, larger self. It doesn't feel good. I'm not trying to shame him.

On the HOBBIT : BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES : Great movie, but the Battle of the Five Armies is waaaaaaay too short ! Really, incredibly, too short! The resolutions are too abrupt and the ending is too quick. It misses one important funeral, reconstruction of Lake-Town with Bard as it’s new master (or some kind of ending for Bard), Thranduil's white jewels, more Beorn and more White Council (which is a cameo really, not a payoff). It clearly needs more character-driven scenes. Ah and what about the Arkenstone? Also, Bilbo’s departure from Erebor seemed cold and distant to me, as was the last scene between Gandalf and Bilbo. I hope the 35 minutes of extended scenes you promised will solve that (but even 35 minutes seem insufficient to me). We believe in your filmmaker’s instincts, and hope you will inject some of the ‘’multiple ending’’ style from the Return of the King to Battle of the five Armies. Thanks!

On LORD OF THE RINGS : Peter, we want to see those deleted scenes, unused for the Extended edition of LOTR, be put back into a Ultimate Edition : - Fellowship of the Ring : additional footage from the Battle of the Last Alliance (and maybe add Lee Pace’s Thranduil into it), an extended Council of Elrond (dialogue from the Council of Elrond, such as Gandalf explaining how Sauron forged the One Ring) - The Two Towers : Arwen and Elrond visiting Galadriel at Lothlórien, Conversation between Elrond and Arwen in a library in Rivendell, after Arwen decides to wait for Aragorn. Elrond leaves saying “You gave away your life’s grace. I cannot protect you anymore” - Return of the King : further epilogue footage, with endings for Legolas and Gimli, Éowyn and Faramir's wedding and Aragorn's death and funeral. Also, to give context for Wormtongue killing Saruman, and Legolas in turn killing Wormtongue, it was to be revealed Wormtongue poisoned Théodred. The final scene cut was Aragorn having his armour fitted for the Battle of the Black Gate by the trilogy's armourers, which was the final scene filmed during principal photography. Peter you already have stated that you would like to include some of these unused scenes in a future "Ultimate Edition" home video release, also including out-takes. Also, you recently had a great idea, namely to put some of the Hobbit's characters into the LOTR, as you mentioned in this recent interview: " I actually think the young girls are going to start watching this 1, 2, 3 and they're going to start wondering where [Tauriel] is. We're really three or four years away from eight and nine year-olds discovering these movies and watching them in this order and will be wondering why she doesn't show up in "Lord of the Rings." Maybe we'll get Evangeline down to New Zealand, shoot a bunch of stuff, chop it up and put it into a box set. " It would be great if you would be able to revisit the cut of all 6 movies in the near future, do an "ultimate cut" of the 6 movies and integrate those scenes I mentioned back in the movies (instead of deleted scenes). You would also be able to reshoot the "Bilbo finding the Ring" scene from Fellowship of the ring, remake gollum from the shadowy scene from Fellowship, add more Balrog vs Gandalf fight, integrate Thranduil in the Battle of the Last Alliance, etc. Thanks!

This film was ghastly. In fact I was pretty annoyed by the treatment of the book. Where to start? Gravity defying elves (who really shouldn't even be there). The horribly written love triangle. The just god-awful idea of sandworms. Whoever thought they were a good idea should have been beaten with a club. The treatment of Beorn. The actual battle was turgid and so very Hollywood. Can we please just do a battle that makes sense at some time. You know it's not actually mandatory to charge into combat. You can use tactics, maybe use archers and use the high ground (Hey, didnt they do that in the book). Cinema-movie makers take note. You are not as good at writing this stuff than Tolkien was. Adapt his story for sure but don't just twist his stuff all out of recognition. Oh and THREE films - you are a bunch of money-gouging gits.

+Valerie Wagner I suppose you think it would have been better to be critical without seeing the movie. You using a laptop from under that bridge?
@VergilHiltsLT
@VergilHiltsLT 5 лет назад
@@gortmundy01 They had absolutely no pre-production with the Hobbit trilogy, unlike Lord of the Rings. Jackson didn't even want to direct the movie until Del Toro dropped out and he took the project. Not to mention other problems.

Peter Jackson = The most Mediocre Director of Hollywood. All the people he hires are the real genious on his projects, he just put his face as a director, just check all his previous movies before LODR and you'll see the man has no talent to make movies of his own. NO hate here, just telling it as it is.
@VergilHiltsLT

And yet all of his Lord of the Rings movies grossed at least a billion each, with widespread critical acclaim. Who are you to criticize this person?
@Evaquiel
@Evaquiel 5 лет назад
But he was the one directing the actors, he was the one aproving and choosing the final designs, he was the one telling the conceptual artists what he wanted. Take him out, you have nothing.

Lmao, he revolutionized the horror splatter genre in many many ways. Bad Taste and Brain Dead are both films that have reached cult status and are widely considered to be some of the best in the genre. Before LOTR, Peter was known for making incredible movies out of nothing. On Bad Taste, not only was he directing but he personally designed and crafted his own alien costumes, as well as creating all of the splatter, fake blood, and guts himself. The reason why the Lord of the Rings was so good is in a large part due to Jackson's vision. He knew Hollywood had trouble with the fantasy genre so he decided to take a different route and tell the story as if they were real historical events. As Andrew Lai mentioned, he was in complete control of approving the designs, directing the actors, and choosing the shots. The Hobbit movies aren't nearly as masterful as the others he made because the studio gave him only a few months of preproduction when usually these types of movies take 3 years of preproduction (which was the time that he got on Lord of the Rings). The reason the Hobbit movies suck is because of the studios, not Jackson. So now that he's made these movies, people use them as an excuse to shit on him. Peter Jackson is an incredibly talented director who deserves the praise that he got over the years.
