I have a Hoppper (no joeys) with 2 cables running from the LNB into the house. I want to add a VIP211 and based on your video I'm thinking I can do this but not sure. If I buy a DPP44 switch and plug the 1/2 SAT ports into the LNB. Then use port 1 power inserter port for the power inserter and VIP 211 and output ports 2/3 to the Hopper. Will this work?
+rkirmeier It should be fine, the dpp44 is basically just a powered switch. In a normal application the receiver would power the lnb's but the switch needs a bit more than that. Did it work out ok?
+Scott McCallum I was told in a forum I would need 3 cables from the dish, 2 for hopper and 1 for the 211. someone recommended moving the solo switch to the dish as then I could use 1 of the cables going into the house for the hopper and one for the 211. I moved the solo and have the hopper running this way so all I need to do is add the 211 which should work fine as I have a single cable for it now. thanks for the feedback...
You should be able to buy mounting brackets from any stv supply. and yes, will provide to either pvr or single tuner receiver. if you're connecting to a pvr, you need to have a separator.
keep in mind this is NOT an sw44. this is a dpp44. sw44 is configured differently. main difference is that you would have to run two jumpers from switch to a pvr (dual tuner) with the dpp44, you only need one jumper and then would use a separator at the dual tuner reciever (pvr)
There are a total of five receivers coming from the switch. Three receivers are coming off of the DPP44 and two are wired directly into the LNB on the dish. You can also run another switch off of this one if you need to power more receivers.
