Imagine dragons comes back for round 2 0:00 Justice for Yanqing 0:21 Intro 1:00 Blade Build and Imbibitor Lunae Build 2:09 THE SHOWDOWN 7:11 Wave 2 vs Yanqing 13:12 Closing Thoughts and Infographics
Imbibitor Lunae in cost of huge destructive power gonna need to be greedy with the skill point usage, but Blade also is very satisfying when destroying multiple targets, great video!
The problem with this statement is that IL just needs different supports to dish out more dmg while characters with very high investment supports. Personally I don't mind an OP character as long as it's not directly outclassing an existent one
let me introduce to you this neat lil 5 star harmony limited characther coming after the penacony planet which will make his 3 sp almost cost nothing since she allows you to generate 4 SP everytime she ults + she let u never over cap on SP + she got bronya action forward E + many other buffs, if she releases as she is i don't see anyother dps to outdps this guy andhe get even crazier if you have her with daniel E2
@@chadikhr7258People are already crying over Jingliu buffs since CN theorycrafters are already saying she might powercreep Dan Heng IL. For the new harmony 5 star, does she provide a 96% damage boost, while also giving 56% atk and 50% crit damage? If not, I don’t she’s gonna be powercreeping Bronya any time soon.
@@Histerdcap As long you have a team that can generate skill points you should be fine, by himself he is very strong regardless. And, power creep is bound to happen, but it doesn't stop you from using units you like anyways.
About the blade part you can eke out more damage by using bronya's ult when he uses his skill to go to blast mode (the extra turn doesn't take a turn off the buffs) as well as ulting on blade after bronya queues him up again. Kudos tho, nice video!
Appreciate the info! Yeah it's definitely worth doing if they line up (easier to make use of the buff turn extension with Qingque since Blade's skill is only used once every 4 turns). Thank you :)
Good video and I truly appreciate the time and effort put in it. A couple of things to point out: 1. Blade only has 60% crit whilst Danny has 77% (not so fair, especially because Blade doesn't do many hits) 2. Blade only has 106 speed (that is way too slow, Blade needs to be fast, at least 122) 3. If you want to play slow Blade you'd have to play an extremely speedy Bronya 160+ ( but bronya is slower than Blade even here) 4. In the video there were times where Bronya's ult was not used properly with Blade. I believe that once these things are taken care of, Blade will have a similar clear as Danny.
Except DHIL's team was horribly optimized. Bailu and Tanky Tingyun/Pela? In terms of Team Comps, Blade effectively had his optimal team comp, while DHIL was given a horribly suboptimal team. Not only did using Bailu completely negate the benefit of the Skill Point Trotters, Blade's team was allowed to fully employ those extra skill points. Secondly, Blade had an S5 SECRET VOW, while DHIL had a Herta Shop Lightcone, a huge advantage toward Blade. Thirdly, DHIL's Crit damage was 30% lower than Blade's, which is equivalent in Crit Value to 15% Crit Rate. They had effectively the same Crit Value, off by 4%, which is extremely minimal. Considering they did 10 runs each, the variance of crits was greatly diminished, as well. You can say what you want, but if you take everything into account on both sides, it was an extremely fair fight in every way. In fact, Blade probably had a bit of an edge because of his team comp. After all, the team comp you use to support a Hypercarry has arguably more weight than the individual stats of that character.
all i can say is...poor yanqing 😭 okay but fr that point you made abt bailu is so true she is a GREAT healer and cuz i dont have luocha i often use her w IL quite often and her invigoration really does do wonders!! im all for pulling characters > meta and ive never felt much attachment to luocha so i love knowing ill have bailu covering my dhils back (its also rly cute when u think abt it story wise w the two vidyadharas hehe)
I'll have to say Blade's lc was so amazing considering our limited options in my opinion, but yep I just got IL two days ago and both have been amazing
I have no horse in this race, I don't even have either dps lmao, but! I feel like it's really really important to note that Blade and DHIL are *very* different ends of the Destruction spectrum. Blade serves as the team's damage sponge, with self healing and 10K HP, and he takes 1 skill point per 3 turns, which makes using him *extremely* comfortable to use compared to basically any other DPS in the game. DHIL on the other hand takes 3 SP a turn, except for after he ults, and he's very squishy while still attracting the 125 Taunt Aggro naturally, which us a lot more constricting. The fact that Blade is still doing such comparable damage with all that being true is really important imo.
Those are all good points! DHIL is like a glass cannon while Blade is just monstrous at absorbing damage and making runs feel comfy while doing great damage
DanIL is Destruction so he has a taunt value of 125 not 150. Only Preservation have base 150 taunt. Still, yea it still means he'll be targeted a bit more, but he isn't as squishy either compared to other paths since he has a high base hp so he always ends up with 3k+ hp with any of his builds.
Excellent video, I have been looking forward to this and you really delivered. Good job on the conclusion stats part too. I have a few suggestions/comments: 1. Potentially test with E0S1 as well? 5 Cycles each should be enough, instead of 10 cycles, so that could save some time. It could also inform viewers if the lightcone is worth pulling for, and that would give some interesting insights on E0S0 vs E0S1. 2. Make some kind of suggestion / actionable insight at the end? This could purely just be your opinion. If you had blade, would you still pull for IL? What point would you stop? This would help viewers decide if they should pull for IL before the banner ends. 3. For the Blade part the action value wasnt displayed but it seemed like Bronya is E0 while Blade had 102 speed, don't really think this is a fair comparison as the whole point of blade is that he is SP neutral and can abuse Bronya's dmg buff. Bronya effectively *2 his damage so was looking forward to a demo using this approach instead to compare, as it doesnt fully show his potential. Overall great job and looking forward to more content.
Appreciate the feedback. Let me try to answer all of these! 1. Multiple tests at different investments is a good idea so that's definitely an option that'll help compare/inform viewers if any LCs are worth pulling 2. Will consider adding more feedback on pull value at end 3. We'll take a look at Blade speed tuning to make sure it's more in line with the optimal playstyle
Please make more videos like this. Very useful and entertaining. No comparison will ever be fair or equal but you guy did your best to make it balanced. DanIL is the king of MoC, but I don't use him for anything besides MoC and difficult boss fights. His autobattle AI is not very smart. Blade is an amazing autobattle character. Doesn't use a lot of skill points, can tank a bit, and is great as either main DPS or sub DPS. Only thing negative about Blade is if you only have Natasha as healer/sustain, she'll be wasting and spamming SP & ultimate heals on him. It's funny that Yangqing is weak to every limited DPS released after Seele. He's truly the ultimate punching bag and test dummy of HSR lol. 🤣
Will do, thank you! Blade is so comfy to play but yeah Daniel is pretty darn cracked right now. Both are amazing in their own right. Poor Yanqing always getting picked on 😭
Glad you like them! I do use jades to refresh to let me build up more characters fast but with enough time we’ll all reach the same point - keep up the grind :)
What an epic video! I saved up basicaslly all my wishes since the start of Honkai Star Rail and was going to all-in on Jing Liu's banner....but I liked Dan Heng IL so much that I all-ined on his banner and got him to E6. Then I got luvky with his Light Cone within two ten pulls...Now I have no wishes left but my God my DHIL is an absolute monstrosity.
I have both at E0 with S1 light cones. Currently my Blade build is far superior but IL is still good. I like both characters and I think they are good in different situations. As everyone knows IL is super SP hungry but he makes up for it with his ridiculous damage. But I love the self sustain and ease of use of Blade. While IL is probably better in MOC at the moment Blade's potential to solo pretty much every world in SU even without Eidolons is so much fun. I will no doubt keep using them both a lot in the future.
I have both and really enjoy both the main diffeence i noticed is that daniel does more dmg but bladie doesnt die from a mob sneezing in his gneral direction. Also you need to build around Daniel's sp while Bladie just exists doing hist thing... so i just use both in same team
Yeah, if you use buff correctly, he will do skyrocket damage. His ult under bronya’s buff(96%) and pela’s debuff can go about 100k solo target. And if you have 4 stacks and ready ult, you can buff with bronya and do ult-bonus attack-basic. He can use sups very well.
@@artumboOkay, so many things to say. First is, again, thank you so freaking much! Second is, the commentary throughout the video is EXTREMELY usefull and welcome! All the different considerations you had to be aware of in order to balance things out must have taken a lot of work! That brings us to the actual balancing act. Straight up, it's an impossible task, but you kinda acknowledged that at the beggining. Personally, I would have preferred to see optimized builds and teams for both, but you opted for low investment/more relatable builds and comps and that is a perfectly valid way of going about it. I think things may have looked a little different in high investment category with Blade's and Bronya's speed tuning. Regardless, great showdown, was definitely fun to watch! I think it'd be interesting to revisit this once Lynx comes out. I expect her to increase the dps of Blade teams significantly, as she will basically count as a buffer for him as well as a healer, because of the max HP buffs and, more importantly, taunts and more frequent follow-ups
@@sa-jy4ve well I don't even know what Luocha's eidolons do, I don't care about 5 star Eidolons. I find it hard to imagine Luocha doing anything to buff Blade tho. Even if he does, max hp and taunt are literally all Blade wants lol
I have just started the game and I got jingliu but I really like dhil and blade ..but if I want to save for one of them who should I pull I mean who will last longer in meta or who is worth investing for long-term....
We did a lot of runs so there are bound to be mistakes but it’s a good thing. Thanks for pointing that out! We’ll try to work on improving our rotations
Sadly I wasn't able to get Dan Heng since I lost to Gepard who I understand is good, but I would personally rather have Bronya in return (the worst part is that I also got another one from the standard banner on the same day). So at this point, Imma use my guarantee on Fu Xuan and go for Jingliu who obviously won't be as strong as Dan Heng, but she can still an amazing amount of damage plus her passive stance gives her 50% crit rate for free so we can focus a lot more on crit damage. I'm also really close to getting a 5 star light cone so I'm deciding to play it smart and use it on Jingliu's
Poor Yanqing HAHAHAHA! Btw a friend of mine was pulling for IL yesterday at night and and to celebrate that he won the 50/50 I made a 10 pull because I was at 30 pity and with a 50/50 so everything was fine... Daniel IL came to my account with that pull... My jaw literally dropped hahahhaha after that I pulled for his LC and I got it at 50 pity or something lol. I was really surprised and happy! 💫 Time to watch some guides, I guess hahaha hope you make one someday! 💛
The thing is even with Lynx, Pela and Tingyun are the only ones targetted 😭atp i feel like they intentionally coded the squishy characters with highest taunt values
I saw that your bronya is slower than blade, Wouldn't it be better to make bronya 134 speed and blade 135-6 so that even if you lose a little damage in blade, it will act more times per cycle? And as a consequence do it in fewer cycles?
yeah that would definitely help but you do need some pretty crazy speed substats to make that work while still maintaining good crit/hp - I do agree though and it would lead to fewer cycles
When i watched thiss vid im so happy my imbibitor lunae is actually gonna carry my team since my main dps rn is yanqing welp rip all my sanity for relic farming
I have both and blade at E1 but not having a 5* star LC for blade even at E1 with his sig set and dan heng il without his bis set and 4* LC at 3 refinement he still dish out more damage than blade in term of f2p dan heng il obviously dish out more damage
I have a question, is the amount of speed of Bronya and blade better than say, a 160+ Bronya and a no boots Blade? Which would do more damage? in the case that i only have blade turns through Bronya skill
i tried to add my Seele in the party. She is e0 2865 atk, 69cr 130cd, 119 speed, s5 herta shop LC, quantum set and arena set. i used luocha and bronya because the MoC buff was useless to her (in 2nd half at least), and i used silver wolf of the quantum weakness. Since my bronya is e2 with past and future s5, i made that she is going right before seele (which is a disadvantage) to compesate bronya e2 buff. Seele cleared it in 5 cycles and 3 atempts
You ideally want bronya to go after Blade or if you want to run slowya you can make her do a basic before Blade and then after Blade attacks it's Bronya's turn again - then use skill on Blade I think Bronya was slower in this video
There are 2 synergies between blade and bronya Hyperspeed bronya and speed tune after dps bronya If you're going hp% boots on blade u need hyperspeed bronya recommend speed is 150+ But in overall speed tune bronya is better because more turns = more follow up stacks = more energy = more dmg
As much as i enjoy blade he still needs alot of rng to get hit causing his damage to fall out. Dan il on the other hand doesn't have any drawbacks or rng based mechanics. His 3 SP usage isn't noticeable in a pela, Luchoa and tingyn team and will only get better with more harmony characters coming out
Just wait for Lynx, Lynx will remove a good amount of that RNG for Blade with her increased taunt value to a Destruction character while also giving some other support.
@@chadachi3970hopefully. Dont be like Clara who people still think need m7 shield aggro or lynx extra aggro to get hit despite already have builtin. Also, people who use bronya+blade combo would know that lynx doesnt do shit lol
tbh most of his damage come from his enhanced basics, follow up attack only does more damage if you have aoe, he can reliably build up stacks for himself anyway by draining his hp and stuff like DOTs will build up his charge mecanic too
On the flip side Blade can be used in a dual dps team like Blade, Seele, Bronya, Luocha. You can use Bronya with Blade when you need to clear adds. Use Bronya on Seele when it is just one or two targets. Blade can soften up enemies for easy resurgence procs. Otherwise you are just drowning in skill points and not using your abilities efficiently. Another plus to this team is that if one dps is out of turn order you can use Bronya skill on the other one.
@@hulahupjingga Blade or Clara don't NEED the extra aggro characters, just if you don't have a better slot you might as well toss them in. If you have Blade+Bronya then I don't think adding Lynx will do much, but without Bronya Blade might need some extra hits for his passive. That being said, if you run Tingyun with Blade/Clara then you might want that extra aggro bc holy shit why does her aggro value feel so high lmao
My two main dps units competing against each other in the same video ……but I usually put them on the same half together with Jing on the other side because I gotta use all my limited banner units…..for now
@@artumbo usually I have silver wolf or tingyun instead of pela. Moc it’s usually silver wolf. So long as I can auto everything without an issue I don’t really see a reason to change anything 😂 Currently I’m torn on wether or not to pickup fu xuan. I already got geppie bailu and luocha. Then we got the upcoming 1.4 banners which I for sure don’t need but I could see jingliu working well with blade. There is a part of me considering skipping for awhile. I really want new supports made for my dan specifically more than anything. The main reason I want fu xuan is to try and get the counter in swarm as negative as possible, run with my geppie, luocha , Dan, and see if I’m even able to be killed lmao 🤣
@@artumbo You could even do the same team JY/Kafka, Tingyun, Asta, Sustain. Though if Kafka loses some people will complain that you didn't give her a dot support eventhough it should be close enough
Can yanqing get impaled and get his 6 star already? Man is the erobb of hsr. L after L. Glad i went Dragon Heng over Blade. I seriously regret skipping 1.1 and 1.2 banners but my gosh these 1.3 banners are the Luofu's finest. Thanks for the comparison showcase and memes
@@artumbo nope i have the 4 star lightcone which gives us 12% crit rate on defeating enemies only one copy it is pretty bad but i have no other choices
Cool video! As someone who is skipping Inbibitor, its pretty cool to see them side to side. However, I just want to point this out: In my opinion, these guys each has their own play styles. Imbibitor NEEDS to be the main focus of the entire team, and requires everything to be built around him. Blade on the other hand, can be slapped onto pretty much any team and deal really good damage without much synergy nor healing because he is also self sufficient. Imbibitor is built to be a hyper carry, and Blade is built to (usually) be a sub DPS(though he can do amazing damage as a main DPS). The versatility of blade, vs the high demand high reward playstyle of Imbibitor is the difference here. That's why I'll be skipping Imbibitor, because although he is good, he is using up skill points that other characters can use, and as time goes on, power creep will do the rest. Characters DPS per skill point will change, but the amount of skill points won't. This means that someone who hogs up THAT many skill points will simply lose value (albeit little by little) over time. it is also true that Danny boy won't be kicked off the DPS leaderboard anytime soon, in fact, I believe that he'll be there for a while. As others say, I believe he is one of the main characters of this world basically, similar to the Archons in Genshin, and therefore should be stronger than other characters. I believe for the first world, Belobog, it's Seele, and now it's Dan Heng. If you want someone who will be broken, most likely even in the future, pull for him. He's really damn good, especially with Tingyun, who basically gives him more skill points by giving him energy to ult more. Tingyun might allow for a sub DPS or whatnot. Only time will tell. Anyways, thanks for reading alla dis, and have a great day and good luck on your future pulling endeavors!
Nah, the basic teambuilding formula is SP-dumping DPS supported by SP-neutral/positive support/sub-DPS. Damage/SP/rotation is the only thing that matters, high SP usage is just a teambuilding restriction to be built around. With powercreep, every single DPS will lose value, why would IL be somehow singled out? The only true thing you said is that IL have strict teambuilding requirements, but that doesn't matter since he's the BiS for all the SP positive supports anyway (F2P friendly too). Now, what *will* hit him hard is the release of SP hungry buffer, basically someone who can dump SP more efficiently than him. But the opposite is also true, the release of SP positive supports will directly buffs IL over other DPS. In conclusion, his high SP rotation is just a c̶o̶p̶e̶ meme that people parrot without really thinking. Damage/SP/rotation is the only thing that matters and SP/rotation is just puzzle pieces to fit together in teambuilding.
@@exu7325 Idk why you're so mad but, I do agree with one point, and is how new DPS will be more skill point efficient than him. I definitely didn't get that across efficiently lol. And yeah, I love the way how you portrayed SP rotation as puzzle pieces, it really describes it well. My dumb ass too lazy to go too deep into the meta rabbit hole, so I'll just take knowing the basic concept.
Wouldn't it have been more efficient to use a dual dps team for Blade instead? Cut out the Pela and put in Seele. You were drowning in skill points with nothing to use it on effectively. Another possibility is to just use a more potent buffer like Yukong.
@@artumbo fr they my only dps and I’m glad running a blade and dhil hyper carry teams i great bc one is Bronya friendly and the other is tingyun happy it’s a W
Man. I've managed to somehow get 95% Crit RATE on DHIL but I can't for the LIFE of me get anything higher than 80% Crit DMG, lol. The relic rolls have been so slanted.
wow that’s insane! The trade off of forcing 3sp into DHIL so u can’t use supports skills didn’t matter. Tell that to the DHIL defenders Jesus Christ wtf. Using sp skills couldn’t catch up at all. Btw I’m writing b4 I watch the video to see if I’ll eat my words later
Not saying DHIL invalidates others. Never claimed that just saying the people who defend that he is difficult to play around either have never played other games or usually play easy games
Yeah the key takeaway is that you usually want to build teams around these characters to get the most out of them That being said both IL and Blade are strong
