There is one correction: At low-mid game, you can use DEF% for your 4 cost echo (in the video i said use ATK%) but you should slowly work your way up and try to get Crit rate (unless you have a crit rate weapon with a decent amount of crit rate substats, go for crit dmg). Finally an indepth Taoqi guide, the character who probably needed it most. I honestly think the people who rate her low for being clunky 1) are spoiled by Verina and Sanhua (got 3 copies of them to fill 3 teams?) and 2) never bothered to learn her kit properly. Also my tip is be flexible with your team rotation. If your main dps has full concerto, swap to Taoqi (not Verina), use her cooldowns, then to Verina before concerto is full (Verina's starts with BA3 instead of her Intro which is honestly better unless you liberation cancel before you get stuck in the air). Do Verina's full rotation, then go back to Taoqi to finish her concerto and then to your main dps. Although not recommended for Changli team because her best rotation (half the time of rotations you see in theorycraft guides) requires funneling 2 concertos into her.
i have seen lot of guides on her, but no one explained like you did. using her parry right after basic attack in between or using her libration after parry, they never crossed my mind and no one mentioned it! you did a great job dude!
Don't expected a Taoqi guide out of nowhere but it's a pleasing surprise, i started to put her in all my new teams after finishing my electro team who was really trengind at the start, i'm really happy to see that instead of being more and more bad she turn to be really decent with every new character released i'm really because i really wanted to play her since beta. I followed an advice to play her with the turtle bell since it scale def and increase damage, i see a lot of people using the bird and don't really realise why. And thanks for this great guide i hope we will see more content your guides are really good.

As an early Taoqi Main/Enjoyer, I would say that this is a great guide. Support is probably the best way to use her but I play her as a main on-field Unit, I wouldn't say I would recommend it but it is fun for me. (Verdant Summit w/ around 3k DEF and 40/250 CR/CD. 4-3-1-1 Echoes, 2pc Moonlit, 2pc Eclipse). Also something to add since I don't think you mentioned it, It is advisable to use her resonance skill just before you ult if it is available or at least while she has rocksteady shield charges around her as if you have the skill upgrade just above her forte circuit she gets a 15% (Base)DEF increase, since both her ults and timed counters scale of defense these can be used to increase her damage a little bit if you are fielding for a good amount of time. For Timed counters to take advantage of this, you can hold doing a strategic parry until you can recast her resonance skill. You might waste a stack of her forte circuit this way unless you do it when you only have 2 or fewer charges. If you have her at s4, you can get a total of 65% (Base)Def increase for a short duration(5 seconds for the 50% def s4 buff) right after a strategic counter if you still have a rocksteady shield stack what this does is it lets you gain more shield from Timed counters and when you swap, the next team member can still use the remaining charges for the 15% damage reduction. I won't say this is optimal but it is something you can do. Also, I like opening a fight with Taoqi's Resonance skill then immediately swapping to a different character to build concerto energy, hopefully I can intro with Taoqi before the rocksteady shields expires to benefit from the DEF increase I mentioned earlier.
How far is your Ult damage? i'm kinda thinking of switching my 3cost to 2pc Eclipse for more damage, my build is 4CR 3Havoc 3Def 1 Def 1Def Moonlite 5pc.
@@JoeynothereI'll get back to you on the numbers later. I just realized that my I'm shooting myself in the foot with my current echo set up. I was running 4-4-3-1 because my original plan was to use dauntless evernight with a CD and CR piece but I no longer need it due to Jiyan's sword so I swapped the CD 4-cost for a defense one which in hindsight was a terrible decision, i'll probably fix that soon. But I digress, switching your sonata effect would depend on the role you want Taoqi to play on your team. If you're using her as support You are going to be trading 22.5% ATK bonus on your main attacker for a 10% havoc damage bonus is an awful trade. But if you want to use her as a main unit, the 10% Havoc DMG and 10% ER is a comfy way to use her if you are going for double DPS where both have close to equal field presence since you wont have her out long enough to truly benefit from the +40% Havoc DMG you would get from a 5pc Havoc set. 5pc Havoc is definitely good if you want to Solo/primary with her but the one problem is you can't use Geo Turtle which IMO is the best echo for her since with the buff on you can tank any hit for 0 damage in her defense stance, at least for as long as it holds(3 attacks).
@@Joeynothere Okay so I checked my numbers, my Taoqi ult as of current stats hits 26k on a crit before any buffs, after buffs it can reach over 30k. I have her at s6 now, so the s2 buff grants 20% CR and CD to the ult so with the base 40+% CR I crit about half the time skewed to critting with the ult. However, it pales in comparison to what I've seen on my Changli but thats to be expected. Once I've fixed my build it'll definitely improve significantly.

My echoes build aren't really fully tuned yet cause i'm debating whether to switch both of the 3cost to Havoc or have both of them Def. How did you get your Def to 3K? are they all from Substat or 1 cost?

I'm always happy to see any type of Taoqi love and appreciation. Taoqi is hard to get into because she's initially underwhelming compared to others, which makes most people just skip her entirely. Thank you for this amazing guide!!!
That rocksteady cancel is honestly the most overlooked thing for her. People get overwhelmed by the parry requirement and think you need to be absolutely advance to activate the parry and that you're not allowed to use basic attacks, when in fact you can effortlessly weave the parry into her gameplay.
Thank you for sharing this guide; it's wonderful to see some love and attention for Taoqi. Mine is a work in progress because I've been building Yuanwu, but I can say that her outro skill alone has been putting in work for Jinhsi. Can't wait until I can build her to do damage!
I have been using Taoqi since day one, I pair her with Danjin since she is losing and regaining life on her own, I think a character who can protect her is more valuable than one who heals. Additionally, Danjin's Auotro ability increases the destruction damage of the next resonator, buffing Taoqi to serve as a Nuker. Furthermore Taoqi's outro ability increases the damage of Danjin's resonance ability which is not bad at all. Still, thank you very much for the guide, Taoqi is one of my favorite WW characters and can be somewhat complex to understand, plus people underestimate her a lot. You have definitely earned my like and my subscription, keep the good work.

I love my Taoqi, she shields my team and makes big swings. I finally got her R6 and she deserves a good upgrade! Her build right now is Moonlite set 4CR (the turtle) 3Havoc 3Def 1Def 1Def with Dauntless Evernight (S3). I never thought of using Discord on her, its been sitting in my inventory for a while now. Thanks for giving me a reason to not get rid of it
I lost my Changli 50/50 and kept pulling so I have Changli with an R6 Taoqi, as well as an R6 Chixia. I need to get everyone geared up for a Changli / Chixia / Taoqi team. Great guide thank you!
Axis' heavy normal attacks will break through the guard. They break through Jianxin's forte charge as well, even if her damage reduction is at 100%. It's one of the few enemies that you unfortunately just have to evade.
I have different build with 3,8k def and 150% energy regen No crit dmg nor crit rate but does really well as either support or literall quick swap meatshield Its difficult to built taoqi as dps since her kit mostly rely on def and her dmg output and attack speed is already low The best way to use her is to pop out shield with intro skill and then outro for the buff But if insist want to use her, just get any dps characters and pair em with her
Quick note at some point you said on impermanence heron you can go attack percent instead of crit rate. Did you mean defense percent? I thought taoqi barely gains anything from attack.
Frustrating when enemies just stand there the entire time when your parry is up, or they just straight miss in the most unlikeliest of ways. Beidou Syndrome returns.
I somehow ended up with S6 Taoqi, and I like the character so I’ve been considering building her, this is very helpful. Considering her S5, will Moonlit Clouds and Discord be overkill on energy regen, or is more energy always better?
Congrats on S6 Taoqi! I think moonlit cloud is always just good to have to support your main dps and Discord is extremely good for the passive that restores Concerto energy. if you're not focused on Taoqi's personal damage, I'd say that's the way to go!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the ultimate low investment team of jinshi with a taoqi and a lvl 1 yuanwu with orginite type 1 (level 1 ofc) and 5 pc rejuvenating glow (all at +0)
@@frenchtutor_ Can confirm it's fun and works well even with very low investment. I'm still working on Taoqi, but I just gave my S4 Yuanwu on a great hybrid build that will only get better. Level 70 for base defense; Originite weapon at level 70 for the ~30% crit damage; Rejuvenating set with turtle on crit rate main stat. I freaking love it. The synergy shines even more with higher investment. For example: S6 Yuanwu buffs defense by 32%! This is my favorite team at the moment. o7
@@frenchtutor_ Taoqi's S5, to replace the "lost" energy regen when she recovers her concerto energy. Hm. Using Discord and aiming for Energy Regen substat might help. I think Turtle Bell is faster to use than Heron. Not to mention you can easily reapply it if you get hit 3 times. I think overall, Turtle Bell is the better choice for Taoqi mainly for "QOL" and DEF scaling.
