@@aprilleerose girl just try it, the 2-step pads are literally face changing! i have seen RU-vid makeup gurus who stock up for a whole year out of pocket. I had read the dermatologist negative reviews of this because of the alcohol and still went ahead and tried it, thank god, because literally I look like a different person after waking up the next day. She’s not lying, I promise you. I thought everyone was just exaggerating after reading tons of reviews.
I have no idea what kind of sorcery is in this brand, but wow! I have been using the Ferulic and Retinol brightening serum, and the hydrating Marine eye cream and my face looks soooooo good! My brown spots are gone, acne is nonexistent and I just glow. Ordered some more products to try them out. It is $$$$$, but it is the best skincare I have used in a while, and yes, a strong sunscreen is a must.
@Julia It too about a month morning and night to see results, and now that I have been using it for about 6 months, my spots are about gone. And I had brown maps all over my very fair skin. I was walking through Nordstrom when a saleslady approached me and told me she had the solution for my spots. Yeah, right... But I was gullible enough to spend the money and WOW, it did work. I now have the Ferulic + Retinol moisturizing cream on the way, along with a third bottle of the serum.
My skin is pretty darn glowy for my age, but even so, my 17 yo daughters skin glows so beautifully I have to stare. Its milky and luminous and firm... (I MIGHT be biased though 😉)
I love love love this brand. I use the peel pads religiously and sometimes splurge on the sunscreen. I will give up all high end skincare before I give up the peel pads. Great video! Gave me some new products to try! 👍🏻👍🏻
So I've been hesitant to buy DDG peel pads because of the alcohol being the 2nd ingredient. Now watching this it clicked...it probably GREATLY enhances penetration of all those good acids BUT...AND THIS IS KEY, I believe, that it MAY not be as detrimental as in other products because essentially it's "neutralized" or washed off! Now I MUST buy them!!! Great review...we have very similar skin and the thought of 2 weeks without breakouts REALLY has me curious!
It's also worth checking out the published research on alcohol and TEWL. It does seem like applying alcohol in a smaller amount is a very different scenario from applying 90% alcohol directly to the skin!
Thank you! Yeah insomnia is awful - I wouldn't wish it on anyone. To me, it's like living half of the potential of your full life (because half of it is in a dream state)
I use Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads and neutralizer every 3 or 4 days. The closer I get to spring the less I want to use these because they will cause extreme skin sensitivity to the sun. I will of course be using sunscreen but I will be very mindful of the types of products I use as the good weather approaches. I really enjoyed your video! 😄👍👍🇨🇦
Sorry you suffer from insomnia, I also have that issue, mainly because of chronic migraines, many caused by weather fronts. You don’t look tired at all 😌.
I use salicylic acid from Paula’s choice then use dr Dennis Gross vitamin c, it’s the best combo for me with fast results and I have tried 20 different vitamin c’s. I love this brand for actives, they work well and they are not too harsh for my Indian skin. ❤ love your videos as always.
Dr Gross’s eye serum with retinol and ferulic tuns back time!!!! It’s $90 in Australia but it will last you a year. You will see some results within a month but to truly see its effect I used it religiously for 9 months now and can see immense noticeable results.
I believe it! I'm testing a new release eye cream from DDG and it's another fantastic product - I'm going to say that DDG is among the top 3 skincare brands I have EVER tried, and that's out of a lot of brands lol!
Holy crap! This is super informative! I found your page because I was recently recommended by a Sephora employee to try out the IPL dark spot serum, it’s working well so far! I have cystic acne, rosacea, oily and textured skin. You definitely convinced me to look more into the Dr. Dennis’ brand! I’m so happy because Sephora is offering a free 7 day trial for the peels and I can’t wait to try them! Awesome video, you got my following!
I haven't even finished watching the video and I've jumped on Sephora to explore the brand, & they have a great set! It's $89 cdn & contains a full size eye serum that retails for $91 cdn on its own. & The set has 3 other products. I bought it & am excited to try it out ☺️
These are also cruelty free I’m pretty sure. I’m usually a Drunk Elephant, Mae Love and The Ordinary girl but I’m going to try this for sure. Thanks for the review!
I’m intrigued! The only product I’ve tried is the Ferulic+Retinol which didn’t give me the same oil-reduction side benefit that Differin does. I held off on trying the others because combining so many actives makes me very uncomfortable as does skincare in tubs. But if it works, it works! I’ll put the 2-step peel product on my short list.
Sephora really needs to offer the peel as a 100 pt perk! It's definitely that type of product where a sample speaks volumes (for results and for whether it will work or cause irritation!)
Sephora does sell a 5-day "mini" version of the peel. Based on my own experience, you should be able to tell within 5 days if it will work for you or not. I would not spend the $88 on a full size without trying a couple of samples or a mini first!
I used the C serum/moisturizer in the AM, and at night I switched around all the actives - retinol products one night, the next night glycolic - and each night I followed with my night balm
@@nivesslezinger7653 ooh that's a good comparison!! Sukari is an amazing product, and very similar in a lot of ways! I will say there are more plant-based ingredients in Sukari (which can be something to make note of for anyone with plant allergies) while the AB peel still wins for more active ingredients...but I do think you could have similar results from either of them
I absolutely abhor Beautypedia/Paula. Anything or anyone that touts to be a bible or regulator or all expert on skin care is a major turn off for me. She may have valid points but I disagree a lot of the content. I have been seriously taking care of my skin since my teens, but just recently discovered DG products. What I have tried has been top notch. Given their focus on acids, it’s not a surprise your trial results put them on top. I am glad to see another channel that is focused on skin care
I can't remember which video (I think it was this one), but I recently cut out a rant about this exact topic. I find it hard NOT to notice that certain communities parallel a religious system - and with Beautypedia, their core ideas are almost dogmatic. They're so adamant about specifics, but when you go digging for the direct source, it often doesn't exist or the main point of the publication is not what Beautypedia gained from it. Of course this is fine in the right perspective (we all have beliefs), but it becomes a bit dangerous to conflate those beliefs/ideas with science/truth.
Yes! Gosh I just started the 2-step pads and I’m in disbelief ! There’s a reason that makeup artist guy on RU-vid with the British accent literally stocks up on a years worth at the vib sale.
RIGHT!? I've trialed so many products on this channel, but I tell you wholeheartedly: the DDG peel pads are the absolute best skincare product I've ever tried, period. And I do the same thing in the VIB sale 😂
I know what you mean about young skin, I’m 40 now 😮 Young skin is glowy and PLUMP. Tretinion is making my skin behave like younger skin but there’s nothing like truly youthful skin 😍 That said, I’d never want to be 20 again 😅
Thanks for another amazingly informative video - and I’m so confused with the witch hazel thing coz isn’t it super astringent? It always makes me break out so badly lol
I haven't tried anything from the line. I am interested in some of it for sure. Lots of great ingredients for sure. Alcohol really doesn't bother me. Now some peels scare me because I am sensitive and retinol just burns me, even in small concentrations. I have done the once a week and still burns. I have tried several different ones. Nope. Great review. Have a super weekend...❌✖❌
Oh yeah, I think you might like this brand - especially because some of the products did remind me of Sunday Riley haha! But definitely try to get samples of the products first! I try to guess at how things will be for sensitive skin but it's a guess at the end of the day! Hope your weekend is going well too!
Yes! BUT - cautiously. I use retinol roughly every other night (sometimes a bit less) and AHA products up to 3x a week. That includes the DDG peel though. AHAs are particularly difficult for my skin so I have to set a strict upper limit - AFAIK many people can use them daily, but that would be way too much for my skin. Hope that helps!
Hi! Thank you for a very informative video! I tried a 5 units package of the DDG extra-strength peel and I loved it! I am purchasing the 60 units pack! Can you help me with one question? Do you use this at AM or PM? I have been using this peel at night because I want to fully profit of each pad since they are expensive. At mornings, I am usually on a rush, always being late. However, I wanted to purchase also the DDG Pore Refining serum and I read on their website you should use it after the peel. But I want to use the serum at mornings... I am confused. Have you tried the pore refining serum? I think peel exfoliation AM and PM would be too much. What do you think? Thank you.
If there is ONE thing that drives me crazzzzzzzy af ~ it is when brands say retinol but do Not disclose the amount/% of retinol in the product. Different %s of retinol are for varying skin issues. I love dr Denise but I won’t purchase any of the products containing retinol because they doesn’t disclose the amount in them.😤😤😤😤😤
Since I trust your opinion, and you are my go-to gal for skin care 😘, I was wondering what you thought in this scenario: I have rough alligator skin & melasma ONLY on my forehead. I currently use Perricone Vitamin C Ester Brightening Amine Face Lift & Ambi which has Hydroquinone 2% and am seeing no results. I can't afford the prescription hydroquinone unfortunately. 😭 I was watching videos and looking at these possibilities: Tatcha Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA or Murad Rapid Age Spot and Lightening Serum Are either a good idea, or maybe the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution you reviewed? I'd love any help! Thanks so much! 😄💞
Hmm I feel like the Perricone should be working, and if it isn't I'm not sure the others will either. BUT if you do want to go the higher vitamin C route on a budget, you could try SkinDeva's 20% vitamin C serum and combine it with the Ordinary's Azelaic acid (a hydroquinone alternative). I'd do C in AM and AA in PM since this is honestly an intense routine. But it's also under $35 total which is appealing in its own right. And the benefit is this would answer your question of "will OTC products help?"
Witch hazel is an astringent - it can reduce the appearance of pores (albeit a temporary effect), however it can be a potential irritant as well. Definitely one of those "know how your skin reacts" ingredients!
Thank you sooooo much!!! I just purchased a bottle of witch hazel, for I had heard you talking about it...I am going to try it and see if it works for my errrr aging skin! Jejejeje. Thanks! 🥰
It's hard to say since the percentage isn't listed. I wouldn't rely on it but it's a helpful part of a routine (and I'd be super cautious if combined with tret/adapalene)
Hey plz hlp me....i have this bottle ipl crctng serum but the liquid is of brown color em confuse is it get oxidized?or its actual clr is brown kindly tell me
A specific one or in general? I'd say my average day use of a serum is 2-3 months. If it has a very light texture, I might go through it faster (and the reverse with thick serums)
