@@typhoonf6 he also repeatedly said to follow the instructions of the CDC / Dr. Fauci. To me, his "downplaying" wasn't so much about the virus itself but more so with the way media was trafficking in panic. Everything I heard him say was along the lines of "the virus is bad but in the world of deadly viruses it's not THAT bad. No need to panic buy toilet paper". Maybe I am wrong, but I can't recall him saying not to take it seriously or anything like that. It was mostly advice like "wash your hands, practice social distancing, and don't touch your face". I remember him saying that it was probably still safe to go out to a restaurant in the early days of the shutdown, but it was also on a podcast most likely taped a week or so before it was released. Even though I think that is bad info, I interpreted it as his opinion and still followed his advice and listened to the CDC instead haha

He was still downplaying it up until this month April, long after millions were in quarantine and tens of thousands dead. He went on tv saying government officials were idiots for enacting health guidelines. That it's like a mild flu...
