I’m so glad I got to see these guys live several times back in the ‘70s. There is no way the culture today would ever allow them to play these songs now. What a loss!

So nice to recover this again. Was at the show in Oslo at Chateau Neuf in the early 1980ths. Great then..😅😅😅great now. A piece of American pop/country and rock bands that made it on the cover of the Rolling Stone😂

Dr Hook's music and live performances are what legendary bands are all about. To entertain our minds and soul. And that's exactly what Dr Hook did, without missing a heartbeat even when stoned out of their minds! Now that's what you call True Musicianship. If you're over 60 (like I am) then you may recall the music from the 70s with fond memories because that was a time of innocence. Watching bands like Dr Hook perform live is a pleasant stroll down memory lane - they bring back wonderful recollections. So when someone asks 'Whatever happened to Dr Hook?" Well then, you can tell 'em they are alive and well in videos like this - Thanks for uploading it! In case you're interested, there are two separate performances here - the first performance is from the D K R C archives. And I have to say this: I'd gladly give up my rolling stones and other band collections anytime for the music of Dr Hook.

My dad died 6 years ago today and I used to listen to his 8track of A Little Bit More and his vinyl of Revisited! These guys are pure 70s

That ain’t no lie! I used to listen to them when I was way too young! Revisited (vinyl) A Little Bit More (8track) and I’ve been “revisiting” them lately. I really like Belly Up!

Absolute legends in my opinion! My favorite band since I was about 11 years old. (My Mom and step dad had all their albums back then- those old ones were played frequently on our stereo back in the late 70's early 80's) I was 12 when I went with my parents to see them in NJ, (1980) and they opened for Sh-Na-Na. (Of all bands- lol, total different genre/crowd! 😅 ) There was about 8 people in the audience there to see Dr. HOOK, and we were 4 of them. Needless to say, the stiffs were in shock, wide eyed and silent, as Dr. Hook performed. So I started yelling "Freakers Ball!" At one point Ray looked towards me, 1/2 way up in the stands, at the 3,500 seat venue, and said "Who said that?" Our friend pointed at me, and Ray said "Did that little girl with the long blonde hair say that?" Tiny, our friend nodded yes. Then after an innocent and silly comment about people always requesting dirty songs, they played Freakers Ball. A year or two later I was flipping through the channels and on PBS there was Dr. Hook being interviewed. I shrieked 'MOM!! DR. HOOKS ON TV!' At one point the dude asked, 'So what is the age group of your fans?' Ray and/or Dennis answered something about having a wide range of people, from young up to very old/grandparents; I don't quite remember... then Ray said "Man, one time we had this little girl with long blonde hair at our show and she kept yelling for us to play Freakers Ball! We couldn't believe it!" Hah!!!! I said "MOM! Hes talking about me!" Anyway, just thought I'd share that little story... I Still love their music, always puts me in a spunky fun mood and Dennis' laugh is STILL contagious. Good stuff, after all these years! Thank you for posting this video...I've looked for that interview, childbirth find it, but that would be cool to see again! 😊

They came to my town in the early 80s, but they had started playing disco so I didn't go. I've been kicking myself ever since.

I don’t love their disco. But I do like “When you’re in love with a beautiful woman” cause I remember it from when I was little.

I was only twelve in 1974 but would have loved to tour with this band. I'd have played for free.

One of the strangest bands in history. And they weren't even very good musicians either.. 😏👎🤮

@@robertgascoigne7095 Doesn't require much talent to sing crappy and play instruments mediocre at best. Seriously...they just SUCK in every possible way. And it's absolutely true...they were a very strange bunch of guys. I stand by my previous comment.
