You do. :) I do. His stuff aged really well and is still relevant. politics and the war-machine, and religion, and humanity is still the same. His materials are great and I like the way he cuts through the bs to get to the truth.
WHO ISN’T INTO HIS COMEDY. A COMEDIC GENIUS. LOVES WHEN HE SAYS “I DON’T BELIEVE IN ANYTHING THE GOVERNMENT TELLS ME. HE WOULD HAVE HAD A 3 HOUR SHOW WITH trump.
@@jonimarsh9105Yes, I noticed that, especially because I now don't helieve the media the radio and video news reports. I see so many discrepancies. Before the web, newspapers used photoshop and also lied about events.
I used to think, Man, if only he had gotten into politics. Then I rewatch specials like this and realize, he was a prophet and comedy was his medium. He was right where he was supposed to be. We miss you George.
yes it is always relevant to see a bunch of sheeps getting their education from a clown instead of reputable academic sources... thats how you know why the world is the way it is
It goes without saying, but this has aged VERY well.. I watched this when it came out and I'm watching it again in 2024. It's wild how much has changed and how much hasn't changed....
Amen. His bit on 'Germs' relates to how America reacted to Covid so fucking accurately. We're essentially fucked. "Most Americans just roll over on command." Shit is heart breaking.
I love how for large parts of this special the audience were silent, just listening like children listening to a teacher in school. Such a brilliant mind full of raw truth and wisdom.
Yeah I agree. Dude's sharp. But what's more amazing than that is how he can have the whole audience clapping in approval at what he says. I remember when he did his religion bit and the whole audience clapped and whistled and laughed. But statistically there's no way that among that many people a greater percentage of them weren't religious. It was people who went to see Carlin. They were probably less religious than the greater population. But still, this is America. They probably got home and wondered why the hell they would clap at that.
@@tommycoopersmagiccarpetwea817 Really. You pay attention to these things ? 🤨 That is dumb. I think it's more important what he says. But, each his own. You,.. keep looking at how he is dressed. I ? I rather listening to what he say, and how a person is dressed doesn't interest me at all !! Well, I hope you have fun looking and probably you will. 😏
He’d be “cancelled” by the left and pressured by the right. Plenty of his beliefs don’t mix with modern conservatism, but he also can’t stand the kind of society currently being held as the standard by the progressive left, so his middle ground will make him internet famous (as he is now) but he couldn’t have any mainstream voice.
@@thecrazedhumorOh yea anything comedy or life-enhancing are the best two things to binge when you’re working! Both beneficial and just keep you in a better mood
virologists and other experts hade been warning for it for the last couple decades , george was a rock solid guy not so much looking for what was said ,but what was left unsaid or empty so to speak ...if it not been for politicians in many nations being so eager to play puppets for bog corps , religions or ultra 'rich' cough nobility under new name cough ..rather then cheek basic history and see where that lead.. just waiting for mother nature to reach the point where ebola combiens with something as super viral like the common cold due to corp greed , religious reality denial or rich spoiled short sightedness , thats more or lees when i think very super nation aka american , russ or eastern 'stupification' syndrom reached a point of ''civilization to stupid to exist , purge and reboot time'' ..and gaia will sheed as many tears in her mindless glory as she done for all the other species humans wiped out.
Sexually transmitted and attacks the immune system? He was talking about AIDS - the point he was making is that maybe the planet is already fighting us off...
I’m 74, and George Carlin was the best been watching him since late 60’s, early 70’s. He’s was one of a kind. If you really like him go back to his early beginnings. I have a distant cousin, who married into his family. They say he was a great human being too. Best wishes ♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Okay Gen Z, keep using your made up snowflake generation type words 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦🤦🤦🤦 no wonder this world is getting more stupid by the minute every single damn day 🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡
GC is stupendous and it's all recorded. He's covered so much material and uncovered so many untruths that this can be watched 1,000 years from now and still be true. We don't need another comedian to follow him up, because he's covered all the material for ages and ages. Thanks GC.
@kentlarsen5834. George Carlin would rightfully object to your using the euphemistic, avoidance of reality, b.s. term "untruths" in place of the direct, straightforward, honest term "lies"!
He wasn't a prophet. He was a gifted observer. These things have existed for as long as humanity has. We can never take refuge in the past, nostalgia is what kills us, and the present is a terrible place to live. In order to change, we must use our imaginations, together, and take flight towards the future.
I first watched him along with Richard Pryor in 1977, in a special on HBO ON New Year's Eve. He and richard were both on fire that night. R.I.P to both Of them Giants of comedy.
It would be great if this fabulous human was still alive. He still remains.power to our people. George Carlin is a legion ,hero and my best ever comedian... Robin Williams is great too ❤❤🎉😂❤❤❤
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say George Carlin was a daily brisk walker. He’s got it all; the movement, the agility, the balance, the physicality, the countenance and the mind.
I listen to him when I graduate and loved the cd now never knowing he was right on EVERYTHING. Thank you for your honesty George C you will be remembered for a while . Much love ❤
I love that George Carlin NEVER sold out to anybody. He was raw, real, and in your face right up to his very last public appearance. I, Erik, am a devout Carlinist.
'THE HOMELESS SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN MAGAZINE' In the Netherlands, that is a thing. It's called 'de Daklozenkrant' (The homelessmagazine) And they sell those for 1 or 2 euro's to make some money for shelter or whatever
I have now read 3 of his books. The best comedy book was Napalm…also his biography written I his voice with help of a co-author. I think all the other guy did was to organize his thoughts. This book takes you through his life from birth to the 90s. I’m just about to start his Daughter, Kelly Carlin-McCall. Now I’m rewatching his great HBO specials. This was one of his favorites. I can see why. Just great - the early iteration of his true personality. Love it!
I was 2 when this came out. Somehow watching this at 32 takes me back to the early 90s, a time period I was too young to appreciate but grew up in. Carlin took everyday things that still hold up, while also taking things that were so far beyond the time. He espouses truth and humanity which is why he could hit in such political social controversy. He talked to you on a human level and then said look up, you think this shit is weird look at EVERYTHING else
