thnx dude ....were you being derogatory in your comparison to green crystal not being like a tubescreamer ? It does seem to color the sound- -and maybe less "versatile " - but it also has a pleasing tone that does indeed color it -just wondering if you personally prefer a tubescreamer thnx-good review- greetings from australia

about the flickering... Try to find some kind of auto light regulation on your camera and turn it to manual (or automatic off) and then you will have to work on regulating that manually on your camera. I saw you are using auto focus too. At this moment the camera must be trying to adjust the light entrance which for some reason might be changing on your room. cheers
Thanks, I am using a new camera now... actually... several... but I have a newer model of the one s that was flickering and it works fine... we really tried everything (with a professional photographer) and the camera simply seemed to be broken. Thanks for taking the time !

'Silicone' (german: Silikon) is the stuff they make fake boobies from ;) What's in the pedal is 'silicon' (german: Silizium), it's a different thing. However, in german 'Silikon' or 'Silicon' can be used for both likewise (according to 'LEO').
Henning !! Just bought this and had to come back here to 'complain' about your review which I now realise fails to mention how utterly lame the tone controls are. They do absolutely nothing for approximately two thirds of their travel ! Fortunately I picked it up for 29 quid.. (Also got the Planes Walker Fuzz which has an equally lame 'Colour' control.
but didn't I use them in the video? The planes walker color doesn't have a big effect, that is right.... but I usually use all knobs all the way... didn't I do that in this video?
EytschPi42 Surely you noticed that they do absolutely nothing until you get past 2 o'clock in the travel ? Well anywya.. I believe this is an issue worth pointing out in a fair review. I've just checked all the other reviews of the Green Crystal and they all (almost suspiciously) fail to mention it.
***** I'd try modding it but they've made it a right pain in the bum. Also it's worth pointing out that the Dr J range are PSU use only. Something you wouldn't expect considering they're not the Mooer/Eno/Donner etc mini size
EytschPi42 Oh..I should point out..I didn't buy it on the strength of your review and therefore I'm not actually complaining as such. I bought it because Joyo officially claim that it is "Featuring two super sensitive Low and High controls..." which is clearly a bunch of steaming bullshit !
***** They claim that?.... that is clearly bullshit.... they do a little bit.... just like many other pedals... but super sensitive? The switch does "a bit".... no major range here... nice sound, but no major options to change it....
I just read that on an MXR Timmy review, an MXR Timmy owner said both the MXR Timmy and this pedal sound alike. I decided to order a Joyo Dr J Green Crystal instead of the MXR Timmy. My EHX East River Drive pedal sounds exactly the same as my Way Huge Conspiracy Theory pedal. I need something different
Another pedal that sounds just like the other thousand pedals, there's only a handful of pedals that have there own voicing and dynamics you can only stuff so much into that little box to make a difference and it's either bad, mediocre or fantastic. This one sounds heh nothing to write home about.
