Hi, my RU-vid Channel could really show you anything I am doing, but primarily it is music stuff... studio sessions, guitar recording, gear reviews, VERY cool and useful guitar lessons... Check back often and see if you like what you... well... see... but also hear... yeah yeah... hearing's good...
Just remember folks this comparison was done with the “reviewers ears” adjusting EQ and everything. I’ll bet any one of us could get them to sound pretty well identical to us using “our ears.”
Amplifiers are too expensive. I bought a used Axe Fx II, and a new TONEX. These give me all the sounds I could dream of. I still think it would be nice to have a real amp, but I don’t see the point anymore.
I think the Simplifier X sounds better than the Origin Effects Revival Drive. Both are a bit difficult to use, but the sounds heard in demonstration videos of this one seem better. With its headphone out I could get awesome sounds and never bother my roommates. I prefer analog. Wouldn't it be interesting to pair this with a Barefaced Audio powered cabinet? Such would compete with the Roland Blues Cube amps. It also might be the ultimate compact travel rig. Ideal for motorcyclist guitar players who go direct.
Do you know how do they compare to the smaller and cheaper iLoud micro monitors model? I mean how would they compare if you don't use the software - I understand the software benefits and cost and I'm more asking about a hardware-only sound comparison. Also didn't you have the expensive Genelec - what happened to them? Did the iLouds replace them too and why? Thank you, I loved the video :)
Not a guitar, but putting the Arturia Microfreak synth thru the Pentatone EQ turns the 'freak into a bass monster, and it's like lifting a veil off of the synth overall.
These look great. I have a tiny desk but a lot of floor space, considering these on the desk versus a fender fr12 on the floor for practice with ToneX.
Important to note that these monitors have 2.44 ms latency ... which is 100% fine by itself. Other monitors have similar latency (some better and some worse) and kudos to IK for publishing their specs. If you have additional latency from other digital devices (interface, computer, modeler, digital pedals, wireless) it can add up and be a problem for tracking (e.g., playing live guitar) around 10-12 ms. Not a problem for mixing. Lots of magic in today's monitors are performed by DSP and that comes with latency.
Speaker tech has come a long way. Size matters, but not as much as it used to. Just look at Phil Jones' bass amps. They look silly to my old school bass guy eyes with all those tiny speakers, but the sound is overwhelmingly perfect.
To me, your payment fee for this video is a product consulting fee to them. You have told them as a professional what is wrong and good with their product. They are getting on top of that some marketing and potentially a market study with the comments on this video (assuming comments will be about the product (I'm not calling guitar) For the midi option, it's fair that you compare it with the triple play but what about guitar to midi software such as MiGic or Jam Origin? Does one guitar (Harley Benton), one audio interface (Behringer to stay cheap) and one software (MiGic is at ~$30) beat the Aeroband or the Triple play?
How much headroom does the EQ pedal have? I'm very interested in buying it but if it cannot take the effects loop level of my ENGL Savage then it's basically useless to me.
Just got one today wow it is amazing ran it through my orange rocker 15 return and orange 2x12 v30's little confused about the wiring for adding in my pedals but I'm sure someone will post something about it soon, thanks for the great video gave me something to start with Michael
The idea is actually not that bad if it worked, but seeing that even the thing with so much soul that electric guitar is becoming a plastic neck with sensors (I mean not strings you need to press on the neck) is just disappointing.
Man sitting on a balcony talking to a camera yells at his wife mowing lawn in the background to stop disturbing him 😅 Jokes aside, regarding the Fender thing, if they really stopped responding to e-mails one day with no explanation, then I'd say they're *not* in their right to do so. That's a childish and very unprofessional way to treat someone. Doubly so if it was in response of simply stating facts.
That’s sweet how you teach the room to the speakers 🔊 simply amazing technology I have KRK ROCKIT 5 they were the best for the buck at GC AT THAT TIME I WAS SHOPPING GREAT VIDEO HP 🤘🎸
That was really interesting... I might buy a pair to complement my Adams. I really love the calibration system and “famous monitor emulation” that is really kick ass.
after 10 years of strictly playing Kempers (since 2014!), I just got the IR-X, plugged it in and holy hell... I have forgotten how to play my fu&§%ing guitar properly! This thing is really amazing and for me the missing link to a modern silent stage environment !
800 USD ??? that's not a " little thing " that's a bank account smashing mega move. I need new ear cups, and a new cable, for my 9 year old sennheiser headphones. ( my only studio monitoring, and my only play back monitors... may be I should make some monitors ) but I can't get new ear cups for my very expensive, yet " obsolete " studio monitor quality headphones....so I will probably rig something up there instead.
These speakers are so good! I have a pair and I can do a mix on them, go to another studio with considerably more expensive monitors, and not really hear a huge difference, other than low end because the others have 6" drivers. It's just physics.
tiny and ugly ... why on earth these companies are not making any effort on the design ? because they sell no matter what ? yep, maybe ... but not to me, meaning they lose some potential clients ... and yes because of that silly reason, my tiny studio is not a dancing room ... I love design ... at the same level than I love music, technology (I am an IT engineer) and guitar ...
I've watched your channel in the past...I must say I find the content rather zany and occasionally abrasive, but interesting :-) Though unlike most of the other utterly woke, creepy commentators below, you do have sympathies...
Got the Nexg 2N version and the Nova Go from Enya. These instruments are phenomenal. I never got so much bang for the buck from a guitar. And the quality of what I get for my money is way above other established brand names.
I immediately understand the practical implications of these instruments. What a disrespectful ass-hat interviewer…thinks every instrument is meant to suit him. I feel like saving my pennies for one of the gorgeous instruments just to spite this dumb ass. Way to pick on the small guy!
I'm not sure it convinced me; I'm not going to replace my good old and brand new JBL Party Box Ultimate, which I plug my guitar into, with this pair of speakers.
Trust is everything. It is easy to deceive naive people, but in the long run I believe (hope) honesty pays off. Videos like this from time to time are good for trust.
