Today, March 27th, is the 137th birthday of James Cruz - the man (born in 1884) who starred in this movie in 1912.

I always have a weak spot for old short films. Beautifully remastered and coloured.

Extraordinary restoration. Bravo!!!

Wow! Didn't know this film existed in color. Why hasn't anyone done John Barrymore's one AND obviously the DEFINITIVE version!

Superbly restored, musically accompanied and colorized 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 👍👍 As a chemist...I always wanted to do this but end up as Buddy Love as Jerry Lewis did 😄😄😉 I wonder who the actors were? This film was made the same year as the Titanic sunk...sooo long ago 😔

It manages to tell most of the story - not all of it - but the director made good use of one reel - beautifully remastered and coloured - one more film saved - thank you

have this one in black and white, and the colorized one is awesome, and the music is the same here as in the black and white version.

The policeman's outfit is so cool ngl, sometimes I do wonder if they were saying stuff on set, someone should lip-read them lol.

The colouris’d flesh tones & outdoor background props are poorly restor’d by computer-added-Colour but the indoor background props (bottles in the lab & books on the library shelves) are very convincing - perhaps someone will remaster a new negative (smoothing out the choppy hand-crank camera work) & improve the computeris’d Colour ‘fanciful reconstruction’ using 2021 CGI which (If funds are available...) could repair a lot of the footage-from 1912 !!!!!

Certain drugs can also give you bad teeth and bad posture. Not to mention the inability to hold envelopes.

Jekyll's birthday is January,5th all years but don't have Hyde's birthday.

Does anyone know where this was filmed? The are certain exterior shots that would pass for sections of the UK and obviously the influence on some of the US architecture is to be expected. But the high wall with the gated entrance and the building made of pieces of stone evoke visions of Kent & Yorkshire - 2 near opposites.
