Dr. Jill is a gift to the world. I am so happy that I discovered her TED talk, her RU-vid videos and her books. Thank you, Dr. Jill.

Thank you Dr. Taylor, for that great and insightful commencement speech. I had a near fatal cerebral hemorrhage in June 2014 and the brain damage was mostly in my back right hemisphere but also some of the left hemisphere also had damaged brain cells from the ruptured bleed. My stroke recovery has been difficult in many ways, both physically and mentally, especially just relearning previous knowledge that was once simple to learn but now is hard to retain due to short term memory deficits. I hope one day that "switch" will finally flip on up there and it will be easier again. If not, my "new normal" is okay , too. Second chances at living don't come around often or with guarantees. Everyone eventually has that "it moment" that causes their life to be drastically different than the way it used to be. Thus life truly is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. I'm actually thankful for my struggles because without them I wouldn't have known my true inner strength.

All the grads are thinking "another lecture that's making me think and I thought we were done with this!" 🤣 But they can't help but listen because she's on point. Speaking truth and genius.

A lot of talk, but little said. The 'lecturer' strides forth determined to 'tell' us 'truth'. And on and on it goes, detailing specifics with enthusiasm of self absorption, but it's all from the same limited pot. And there's a verbal derision that remains unquestioned. The glimpse has been categorised and completely contained. The final summation; "Our left brain would rather be right than happy Our right brain would rather be happy than right", brilliantly encompasses the dramatic weakness of left brain thinking, but is extraordinarily patronising and limited with regard to right brain potential. Take what you can and move on ...

Thelivinggods Thelivinggods I believe your thinking of this lecturer would be so very different if you took time to listen to her interview with Oprah. The type of venue really limited the information. The interview is so much more significant in its implications of what a powerful organ our brain really is and how much power and clarity we can have when you put into practice the realizations she is able to convey.
