Watch 2011 Inductee Dr. John accept his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction recognition onstage. Dr. John was schooled by New Orleans’ finest, but he gave the music a new twist with his swampy, voodoo charm.
This is one original artist with fantastic musicianship and music. The master of his craft. Dr. John, may he RIP! God Bless his soul! Another great one gone...

I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. John several times in my life, and each time was life-changing. Absolutely the hippest, deepest cat I've ever met in my life.
This man came to a family bbq and played piano for my mom who just had her voice box removed from cancer. After he was done playing my mom put her hand up and shook it side to side like yeah that was o k. Her since of humor I miss and macs compassion I truly miss. Rest easy silly man.
What impressed me maybe the most about Dr. John was when I realized what a MUSICIAN he was. He could play ANY genre with ANYbody and blend in seamlessly or more significantly, whatever the SITCH-EEA-SHUN called for. May God bless Dr. John!
