Coming from someone after a TBI and major brain surgeries 45 years ago when I wasn't supposed to walk or work again. Short story: I got angry, motivated and read up on my condition. Took myself off the brutal drugs, exercised, strived. Slowly got better with setbacks. Eventually worked for a company traveling the continents in field service, got married, lived. Presently build and test large RF devices at a National Laboratory. My take- treat the brain like a muscle. Feed it thoughtfully, exercise it, push it, don't abuse it. Ya know, you describe some Asimov and Aurther C Clark novels with your longevity and mind expansion ideas. Some science fiction was pretty predictive.
