yes, this Parable has 2 important messages. 1] To be kind to others especially those in great need. 2] Anti-racist.Jews and Samaritans generally disliked each other, so Our Lord taught that they are as capable of being kind as anyone else. Jesus was Jewish, so he was showing that he did not have the prejudices of many of his contemporaries. The same message is to be found in Our Lord's meeting with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well,described in John's Gospel.
