Been on ozempic since 2021 and my wife to. She lost 100lbs, I went from 223 to 160lbs. We go to gym and eat high protein. No side effects at all. Only thing was a headache when first starting and sulfur burps. Not a single problem after like 1 month taking it. Our blood results have been extremely positive, A1C below 5.0. Never was depressed and we are both loving life. Now came off ozempic and maintained weight no problem.

People don't realize that if they do intermittent fasting everyday, eat clean food (as little sugar, additives, pesticides, modifiers, vegetable oils etc as possible), and combine that with a moderately active lifestyle, they will lose fat. Because the fat gained happens from a combination of eating bad foods and not moving much. It is not fatty food that makes you fat, it is rathe bad foods that do. Natural fats, protein and carbs are good for and meant for the body. I have been eating real butter, animal fat and cream etc for years now and my blood work shows perfect levels. I have also slowly lost fat over the months and gained muscle. And that is without making my meal size smaller. I do also get to enjoy a glass of wine every once in a while, and natural homemade desserts. I once tried to eat sugar again after I quit for weeks, and my stomach had a severe reaction, which I interpret as a normal reaction to poison. Changing lifestyle is the way to go. NOT ozempic. We are living in a quick fix society, and it never bears fruit. The only solution to a global weight loss, is will power, making organic foods affordable, and eliminating toxins from our food. Since this will not happen, because of how food companies and big farma will lose customers from it, each individual has to take their own bodily health into their own hands.

I have a good friend who was on it for a year. She was suicidal and depressed every day while on it. She lost 80 lbs and her muscles were gone. She still had fat roles on her stomach and looked skinny fat. She ate junk food and doughnuts the entire time she was on it. One year later, she's gained 20 lbs back. Her diet is exactly the same. I think it really depends on the person and the situation. I'm looking to lose about 50 lbs. I was an athlete through my childhood, high school, and some of college. Used to eating whatever I want and either not gain any weight or sometime even lose weight when in season. As I got older and more sedentary, the weight slowly started to pile on. Over the last few years though, while my weight has fluctuated about 10 lbs or so, it hasn't gone up past a certain point. So for me, I'm considering it as a short-term assist to initially lower my weight. Will I gain some of it back after I stop? Probably. But I think I will still be able to keep myself weighing considerably less, as I have been able to keep myself at a relatively consistent weight now -- it's losing larger amounts of weight over a long period of time that has been the struggle. As with any drug though, it's not a miracle, and there are always side effects and consequences to consider, so I don't take considering it lightly.

Nah, the internet has been around since the 80s for most people. I am born in 85 and grew up with it. Everyone was active until the smartphones came around. I was active too, and I was a professional gamer for a whole decade! I chose to never have a smartphone when they came out... I am psychic, so I was warned about these phones 10 years before they came out. I also did my research that confirmed the message that I got. Still have my oldie GSM phone and I love it. I' never wanted a smartphone, never had one, and both times people tried to give me one as a present, I told them to return it and go travel for those money or something, I don't need it. I don't want to join that matrix. I've watched everyone around me and the world get dumber and less in the now moment. I am fine living in the moment and not having my mind programmed by people who don't want the best for us. Australia. I am a type 2 diabetic, was put on this late last year. Quite often cannot fill my prescription as not enough available. Have travelled up to 2 hours away to get it filled and had to go through 100 questions to get it via the chemist. (Which was fine) the chemist refused to put it aside until we could drive to the chemist, so could well have turned up to find it no longer available . We will not do this (travel distances) to get this script filled again, the fuel cost is crap, so we can’t afford to do this sort of running around. We do not eat processed foods, haven’t done so for 20 plus years. Grow our own veg, eat little mea, try to balance our diet. My doc has been great, explained possible side effects, I have checks every month, found I wasn’t drinking enough water, so have bumped that up and found tests results improved massively. (I have only two cups of instant coffee a day, 1 cup of tea, rest of the time water). Every time I go to the toilet, I have a 200ml glass of water to ensure my kidney function is optimumised. Constipation is a problem, so I have all bran and prunes each mid morning, as brunch, occasionally I may have a cup of home made soup for mid arvo and then a proper meal of a night, small portion of protein and veg or salad. I have lost a huge amount of weight, over 40 kg, so now I have options open to me to have knee surgery done, which will allow me to walk more and hopefully pain free, then I hope I can drop the Ozempic, as I should be able to maintain the diet and exercise. My diabetes is well under control and if I can keep the weight from returning it should be good. Like every medication available, there are possible side effects, most people don’t read the information included with the meds, and don’t query with their doctor regularly about what meds they are taking and if any can be dropped or dose lessened. I think my doctor must cringe when he sees me at times, I write out questions, check what else I can be doing etc. I am never made to feel like a fool for my queries and I do appreciate that attitude. So for me so far, Ozempic is working. But I do detest all the hype it has been given as a weight loss drug, which unfortunately is making it very difficult for diabetics to be able to get regular supply, if you do not require this drug for its intended use, find other ways. No hate responses please, just expressing my experience with the drug.

Obviously I have kept my lifestyle changes, but I don't think what Dr. Hyman is saying here about the weight always coming back is really backed by the statistics. The most recent study I saw said about 25% of patients gain back ALL of their weight, 25% gain back some, 10% continue weight loss and the rest maintain. So that is 75% of people who lose weight. on this and about 50% keep it off. Further, I like Dr. Hyman on a lot of things, but, in the end, he is selling something. And these drugs mean he will sell less, it is pretty simple.

I am a type 2 diabetic. I am on Mounjaro and have been on Ozembic. I was already skinny when I started taking these medications. I have lost more weight, and it does suppress my appetite, which is great for controlling your sugar levels. But, you do have to work on eating when you're not hungry. I have struggled with energy levels and some minor digestive issues. I do still work 12 hour shifts a day at a rigorous manufacturing plant. It can be managed as long as you make the efforts to compensate for the side effects of these medications. So, like any medication, you need to make additional lifestyle changes to counteract the effects of drugs like Ozembic. These medications for diabetes type 2 are amazing, but I would not recommend them solely for weight loss.

I think you don’t need to eat less just eat right. I eat a keto/carnivore diet and eat twice per day and I keep really trim even at 51. I eat lots of animal fats and raw dairy with a little fruit and green veg. I can’t understand how taking a drug that makes you feel sick, constipates you and could even kill you is given to fat people instead of helping them just to stop eating crap. Give them bacon and eggs for brunch and steak or chicken and rocket salad for dinner with pork rinds, some nuts and cheese for snacks and watch the pounds come off. Stop all carbs and processed food. It’s that easy 😊

The strange thing about what he said was that we don’t know about the long term effects . These meds have been used for years in diabetics. Why now is it potentially dangerous for people to use? I know people who have been on this med for many many years and it has done nothing more than help!
@00teatime
@00teatime Месяц назад
It's "dangerous" because it's being prescribed to people who the drug was not meant for. Morbidly obese diabetics with multiple commodities are now struggling to get the drug because everyone and their mom who is slightly overweight (with no disease) is getting prescribed it. It wasn't meant for relatively healthy people with just poor self-control.

People need to find out why they over/under eat. This is usually down to mental/emotional reasons (comfort eating ect) it can take a while to get to the point where you don't emotional eat. It's a slow process as you have to face the emotions you have been blocking with food. It's not easy. But much better than take a shot that reduces your muscle mass by 50%!! That will cause you more problems than being overweight in the first place!! Learn to love yourself, listen to your body... when you have had enough food to feel satisfied (not full) and ditch all the shitty food programmes you have grown up with. No more guilt trips, just loving yourself for who you are. And loving what and how much you nourish your body with. If you listen your body will tell you what you need to eat and when. Don't take the "cheats" way, you will only have to do it properly after all. ❤

This has to be a joke. I’ve lost 100 in 10 months by taking a weekly injection of semaglutide. I already had been eating well and excersizing daily.. before the semaglutide I spent a year going to gym five days a week. The harder I worked out, the hungrier I was that day. I felt helpless. After a year, I ditched my membership and dedicated my exercises to half indoor half outdoor. Then I found out about semaglutide.. started losing weight the first week. My appetite reduced.. Not just my appetite and eating less , but also cannabis and nicotine. I’m 6’5. I was at my highest weight ever when I began the weekly treatment at 310 pounds. I weighed in today at 211. Went from a 42 waist to a 36. The only thing I did for my diet was avoid as much processed food as possible, and watched my sugar intake. I did little things like get the low sugar, low-carb vanilla ice cream instead of the Ben & Jerry’s. Other than that, the white just fell off of me and I still have no clue how. my average white throughout my life has been 250. When I was 16 and I was starving myself I got down to 230. Before the medication I had not been below 250 since at least my college days. I’m 32 now. This medication gave me my life back. Without the extra weight, I can do push-ups properly. I used to be somebody that refused to look at themselves naked in the mirror. Now it’s hard to get me to keep on a shirt. It’s really funny hearing you talk about all of this in a fearful manner. I believe that most of the horror stories that have been told so far are just getting paid to say so (probably by someone that’s been skinny their entire life) it’s been a lifelong battle. I remember going to “kid fit camp” during my summers in middle school. I only hit 230 when I was 16 because my doctor gave me medication for ADHD that made my appetite disappear, and I took advantage of it. Which obviously eventually sent me into a spiral. The second I stop eating in a calorie deficit manner I would blow up like a balloon overnight. Moral of the story don’t let any skinny person gaslight you into not trying it.

For many this is life changing, the blood work and over all stats for persons health and for that alone it is a HUGE benefit. For a women in menopause, who eats well but has had a struggle loosing weight, this has been amazing with little to no side effects. Many won't gain back of they maintain healthy eating and exercise. Some just need this as a jump start. My cost is 300 a month for straight semiglutide. You don't have to spend 1700 a month and these costs will come down as soon as the newness of this breaks and when people figure out you don't have to get the brands name to get the same exact medicine. All of my doctors said it would be an excellent way to get my system jumpstarted. I have increased my protein intake and have added weight lifting and for long term my food is amazing and delicious... if you need get a nutritionist. You have to eat on this medication to keep your organs and body functioning... what about the side effects of having all of the weight. Everything has to be measured when making this decision. I think heart attack for being over weight is a bad side effect of obesity too.

I'm a type 1 diabetic and would love to take a GLP-1. I'm hoping they will be approved for Type 1 soon. This drug will make it where I don't have to take so much insulin. I'm already on a low carb diet and I exercise daily but it would be nice to take less insulin because insulin makes it hard to loose weight no matter what you eat.

I’m going off of it after 3 years. I’m starting to have issues. I didn’t lose any weight. On it for diabetes.

@@hometowngirl8062 I’ve heard some doctors say that there are some diabetics who don’t lose any weight on it, so you aren’t alone.

So you need to lift and eat right to be on this medication. So essentially you don’t need the medication because what you need to do will make you lose the weight anyway. 😒

I mean, I guess insurance companies weigh the cost of paying for Ozempic now, vs paying for heart attack, diabetes and more later.

Insurance wants to pay higher costs for care, they are publicly traded companies and their revenue model is your premium dollars which is based on cost of care. No company wants to lose revenue year over year, health insurance companies are no different. This is the fallacy in the U.S. that people think health insurance companies are trying to lower costs, its the inverse.

@Nate-xk2qf I don't think you quite understood what I mean. Ozempic does cost less than having to pay for conditions that will only multiply and compound that result from chronic obesity. Do you have any idea how much a coronary bypass surgery costs? Years of diabetes supplies? Kidney transplant? Liver failure costs? One person could need all of that and more. Ozempic and other medications like it are a cost savings measure. If what you're assuming is true, they wouldn't be paying for weightloss drugs because it will cost more in the long run if they don't. I'm a medical biller and coder. You haven't got a clue about what you're talking about.
