Unfortunately most no longer believe the truth. When my father was in the hospital I couldn't find a priest to talk to him about his soul. He was away from Christ and the Church. The church he was connected to said they don't talk to their people about salvation and sin. The church I had been going to the priest said most everyone comes to GOD at the end of their life. My father didn't. I did talk to him.
and everyone who questions it gets bullied by people like Bishop Barron and treated as if they are crazy and violent or something when all they want is to talk it out in a civil discussion. I watched a couple disappointing but eye-opening videos about this yesterday. I'm disappointed in Fr. Goring who gave Bishop Barren an 80% approval rating, but also said he listened to the Bishop's homilies every morning (!?!). Dr. Ralph Martin was another disappointment. Turns out he's Gung-ho Vatican II, and that's where I shut down. I knew I could count on Dr. Marshall for some enlightenment and he delivered. But I am disappointed that I am disappointed in these other two. I was hoping for some hope.

Excellent video! Unfortunately being a child of the 60s, I see 2 churches: a split between the Pre-Beatles & the Post-Beatles eras. It’s so sad to have a church that in practice only seems to go back to the time of the Beatles and not to the time of Christ. So much was lost with the rejection of tradition.

St Paul was following his conscience when he persecuted Christians. Our Lord struck him down from his horse, blinded him and reprimanded him for it. Conclusion: conscience does not always tell the person to do what is pleasing to God. On the contrary, a darkened conscience can get the person to do things that are very displeasing to God and which merit punishment.

Great things don't come about with out dedication, effort or diligence. The Church was great when it took on formidable foes and feats. But when one thinks of what people endured to go to the Holy Land from Western Europe, to free them from the depredations of the Muslims and their abuse of Christian pilgrims, one can understand why it was called The Age Of Faith. Look at the massive Cathedrals built over many lifetimes. Even in smaller towns. Think about the missionaries who accompanied the Conquistadors while they subdued the mighty Aztecs. Why bother converting people to Christ , when we're all brothers, and even though we're on different paths, we're on the same mountain. Hence, we'll all meet at the summit. This is not of Christ. Why would God, the Creator of the Universe, humble Himself, and become a man, and further humiliate Himself by being tortured and hanged to die on a cross? Or why continue to humiliate Himself and appear under humble substances, like bread and wine? Even in a Novus Ordo Mass with all of its insults and sacrileges? Truth hurts people. No pain, no gain.

I followed my conscience for the first 50 years of my life as an athiest, and my conscience was corrupt, self-serving, pleasure-driven, lost, and allowed me to break every commandments, in thought if not in deed. My conscience is worthless. Only by believing in Jesus can I now claim the blood of Christ to save me. His error is thinking a human conscience is rooted in good. It isn’t. There are only 2 teams. If you’re not on team Jesus, well, you’re jersey has horns on it.
Your conscience has to be educated in the scripture and tradition of the Catholic Church, and illuminated with faith, purity and obedience. That should keep us all busy for the rest of our lives in time before we pass into eternity !

Dr Marshall, wanted to share a story with you. I attend the Latin mass on Pittsburgh, Pa and greeted a woman going in to church. She shared with me that she was a first time Latin mass attendee due to your promotion on your podcast. I greeted her warmly and introduced her to my priest who showed her an app on her phone to follow the mass. May God bless your ministry.
The first mass was celebrated in Aramaic , the very language of Jesus Christ. Pontius Pilate crucified Christ and published it on the Cross in the Latin language. The language used is not important , but the worship offered by mind and heart in any language of any human being.

With great shame, I admit that I used to parrot the Bishop Barron line in a slightly different way. Now that I am confronted with John 14:6 and Acts I understand my error. I believe there is a way to deliver the truth by helping people to see the pathway from where they are and where they need to get. Bishop Fulton Sheen was a great purveyor of the truth; we need to channel him.

Whenever I hear Bishop Barron speaking on this subject, I always get the impression that, rather than preaching the gospel, he is instead apologizing for proper Catholic doctrine, and that he's uncomfortable with being Catholic.

I was in the seminary in '74 & '75 and the two theologians that were most referenced in respect of Vatican II were Karl Rahner and Edward Schillebeeckx: both modernist theologians. I don't recall Hans Kung being referenced, but the way Schillebeeckx & Rahner were spoken of was highly deferential like they were the last word on the theology of Salvation. Dr Marshall is like a John the Baptist straightening out the tortuous meanderings and anomalies seeded by Vatican II in an attempt by many in the Church to reconcile its teachings with the rest of the world. Jesus didn't colour or water down his language when it came to speaking the Truth. He spoke plainly and unambiguously and this is how it has to be.

(John 14:26). So there it is. John is stating unequivocally, from the mouth of Jesus Himself, that what has been written by those recalling the events in Jesus's life is as it was spoken. I need say no more. As believers in The Word of God made flesh, we take it as a matter of Faith that what has been written for posterity had Divine assistance in those moments of recollection of the events and words ascribed to Jesus. When you read the different translations some are more prosaic than others, but the message remains the same. You insist that: “we must endeavour to hold to the basic truth of the Gospel message while applying it in the light of a new understanding of anthropology, comparative religion, human psychology, and science”. I don’t see the relevance of the Gospel message being given a reset based on the modern relativistic inputs you’ve put forward. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8), so what is it about our times that makes Jesus and his message any different to how it was received in the early Church or the Church of the Middle Ages? Modernists like Karl Rahner have a penchant for giving insights into The Salvation Event which are at variance to the teachings of the Church Fathers and the Doctors of the Church. The modernists are like those disciples who, when they were told by Jesus that He was the Bread of Life were unable to accept and embrace that sovereign and loving doctrine of the Holy Eucharist (John 6:48-69). Instead, they no longer walked with the Word of God. The modernists take a different tack- they look to garner consensus on doctrines that are unpalatable to Catholics or to those of other Christian denominations by putting their own spin on the Church’s traditional teaching so as to make them more acceptable. Dr. Marshall holds to the traditional line of Church teaching. If you don’t like his reiteration of Holy Scripture and the doctrines laid out in the Catechism of the Council of Trent, then perhaps you ought to question your faith.
Dismas the good thief on the cross: he was not Catholic and was saved. But he accepted and loved Our Lord at the moment of death. Jesus is the only way, not the fullness of the way. (Fr Goring did a great video on this today)

Btw, John MacArthur was on Shapiro’s show about a year ago, maybe two, and Ben asked John the same question. And John told him straightforwardly about the gospel, with no watering down. But that’s John MacArthur, wonderful 80 yr old Calvinist pastor, Bible expert, 50 years in his own church he created , which he never closed during covid. he’s absolutely devoted to Jesus, the Bible and will not compromise.
His only problem comes from the word Calvin who believed in double predestination ( T U L I P-let the reader understand ) God has already chosen the number he wants saved and the rest literally be damned. That is why universalism came into being as a reaction , if God wants to only save some, why not save all. Merit or good works or privileged birth status is not the measure that God uses but simply his own choice that He wills to save .
McCarthur is a disgusting false teacher whose father was one of the highest ranking Freemasons in Canada. @@peterj6740 Look up the definition of heresy in the Catechism. John MacCarthur more than meets the criteria, and it's a dogma that heretics cannot be saved. Also, it's not just his father. The evidence indicates that's he's a member of the Lodge as well. Do the research. Scripture days that the Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth. If he had the Holy Spirit and wasn't putting up any obstacles to grace in his moral or intellectual life, he would be led to the truth of Catholicism.

If you can obtain salvation through other religions other than Christianity , then why did Jesus suffer his passion and death on the cross ? To say otherwise is to question Christ's divinity .
Bishop Barron is fearful of the consequences of telling these other religions that they contain some truths, but they are inclusive without the truth, that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Only through, him and believing that he was sent from God as Messiah and through his mission given he conquered sin and won for us salvation to be joined with God the father.
These rays of light in other faiths that Barron talks about have not died for the sins of the human race like our lord Jesus did. Dr. you stated that Buda, Shiva and Mohamed did not die or claim to die for the sins of the word like our savior did .AMEN!!!!!!
It's the smirk of Bishop Barron that drives me crazy. He can't help but smirk as he mocks the traditional understanding. He thinks himself so smart as he gets around these clear and blunt scriptures.
They are children of their age and the liberal democratic ideology they grew up in. There is nothing of that ideology in the Word of God or in the Church's magisterial teaching on salvation.the antipopes of Vatican II idolize because they idealize the American liberal democracy, with its quondam financial and technological successes, the reality of this democracy they all knew and know very little about. They are all cut from the same sentimental egalitarian cloth and the their salvation doctrine in not that of the Church which is infallibly that of its Founder.. For years I supported Bishop Barron. He is extremely talented speaker and promotes the new evangelization in our cultures. But it's worthless if we care promoting teaching and documents that aren't infallible. All teachings of evangelist need to perfectly aligned with Sacred scripture and the apostolic teachings of father's in the Catholic church. The reason most other religions exist today is because they reject the teaching Christ like they did in his time. Even some of his own disciples couldn't handle the Truth. Other faiths do not have a path for reconciliation of sins to rely on. Consciences these days improperly formed not on in the Catholic church but outside, so can we say they have access to the Truth. It's a ridiculous stretch. I hope the Holy Spirit overshadows the leadership in the church so true unity in one Catholic Apostolic faith can be achieved.

@Marcello Pasolini I am sorry to hear this, as Jesus never said to go be Catholic or Baptist or Lutheran, etc. HE said to go and make disciples. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Scriptures are first and should always be first before any man made tradition or teaching.
@Marcello Pasolini actually, John was writing his Gospel right after his brother was martyred, so yes they did have their writings which later became our Bible. Plus, most were Jewish and read the Torah and more, so they knew Jesus was whom Isaiah prophesied. Also, Scripture is the Word of God, it is Holy Spirit led, therefore, you must have the Holy Spirit working in you to understand the Word, otherwise it won't make sense. The Holy Spirit reveals the Truth to your heart and mind and you read the Bible. Please don't take my word for it, open the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's Truth to your heart and mind. WOW--just WOW!! My soul, brother Marshall, you are PREACHING this message! I loved every minute of it! Now, I have heard of Bishop Barron in the last year, mainly because of Jonathan Roumie, the actor who portrays Jesus in The Chosen TV series; they are buddies, and JR shares a lot of stuff that they talk about, etc. So from those talks here and there, Bishop Barron seemed okay; but THIS--this is very disturbing. The whole time I'm watching this, I was reminded of the "all roads lead to God" messages from those who like you said, are afraid to just "tell it like it is"--the truth of the Gospel. Rather, they give the "left hand offer" as you put it, and THEY WILL be judged by the Lord Jesus for that! We just have to keep such clergy like Bishop Barron in our prayers, so that the Lord convicts his heart, and makes him a total "straight shooter" from the hip, no matter how much it's going to hurt the one who needs to hear it. Truth hurts, but I'd rather be wounded by the Truth, and come to Jesus with the WHOLE LIGHT of the Gospel, instead of some "lesser rays" of the Truth, mixed with pagan and demonic beliefs. The clergy of all the Christian sects, needs to go back and read the commandments where it says, "You shall have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME" (Exodus 20:3). The LORD GOD our Father is a Jealous God, and it is also written, "I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but Me." (Isaiah 45:5). So if the LORD God our Father doesn't like any other gods besides Him, what makes anyone think He is going to be okay with having those who need to hear the message of Salvation, come through any other doorway or god--than Him?? hmmm....yea, I think Bishop Barron and the rest of them who err in the same way, need to get a loving "nudge" (more like a tap on the head from His mighty Hand!) from the Holy Spirit, to bring them back TO Jesus' words, the Apostles, and what the early Church fathers and Councils did. "Speak the Truth in Love" (Eph. 4:15) --that is what we are commanded to do. Thank you for an awesome message!

The martyrs died for the very reason out of their LOVE FOR GOD ,and that is the most perfect of all reasons. Even if there was no heaven or hell , they would still have chosen death to show their love for GOd alone and not to impress anyone else of their holiness.

God alone is worthy of all praise and all of our love. Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his friends. Our greatest friend of all is God Himself , who gave away his Son , who out of pure love died for us( his friends ) on the Cross. God is worthy , and alone is worthy , to die for.

I am going to binge watch BP. Fulton Sheen's video's to see if he has anything on how to convert a non- Catholic...charitably! I am sure BP. Sheen has answered this question many times...and he would be the role model to follow!

@@noitsannoitsan1546 When we profess our Faith at Sunday mass , what do we do , we simply pray the Nicene creed or should I say , we go through the ritual of saying certain words in response to a request to recite either the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed. But a lot of times we do it without thinking . Scripture and Tradition go hand in hand , especially when it comes to the Creed , as the creed summarises our faith as Catholic Christians. if you indeed believe and pray the creed , you are most certainly my brother in the Faith. Bishop Barron professes the same creed as we do and is a very capable teacher , if we understand his teaching , but a lot of Catholics have a misconception about him. I myself cannot fault him on the essentials of our Catholic Faith . Remember we have freedom of conscience when it comes to the non essentials of what it means to be a Catholic
The big problem with the "follow your conscience" statement is the assumption that all consciences are well-informed. And then there's no reference to the objective fact of the necessity to avoid sin and be in sanctifying grace.
Yes, absolutely right. And this truth is denied by almost everyone who calls himself or herself "catholic". The denial of it which began with the Protocol Suprema Haec Sacra written and published with the consent of Pius XII, although this protocol has no note of infallibility and contradicts the canons on Baptism of the Council of Trent and the Bull "Cantate Domino" of the Council of Florence. It is interesting to note also that it was first published in the Diocese of Boston's newspaper, The Pilot, and not in the Osservatore Romano; and also that it was not signed by Pius XII or recorded in the Acts of the Apostolic See. Nevertheless it was immediately and agressively publicized as the Church's official teaching on salvation; and today almost everyone, including even many traditionalist Catholic groups ,believe it to be De Fide and teach it as such, when it is nothing of the kind. This disasterous concession to the egalitarianism of liberal democracy in which American Catholics were thoroughly steeped , probably allowed in the name of charitable pastoral praxis is, in my opinion, the real source of the errors of Vatican II and its " false ecumenical" praxis , especially egregious in the Assisi events, and the loss of faith in the necessity for of real membership in the Church and obedience to its moral teachings, and the loss of faith in the saving power of its Sacraments. If we are looking for "the crack through which the smoke of Satan entered the sanctuary", I think that Suprema Haec Sacra would qualify.

I met Bishop Barron here in Chicago at Mundelein seminary awhile ago when he still a priest, a very nice, kind, and a down to earth person....but I don't know about his teaching. Praying for him🙏

However, back I’m my young adult years (20-30s) the word from the pulpit made this issue confusing. Over my lifetime I have seen this confusion manifest itself in the building of Catholic Churches that resemble arenas: no kneelers, no stained glass, lots of cement, and in the round...
B Barren says *go back to the Second Vatican Council." Whoa! Way back THAT far? That is so old fashioned. We need a Third Vatican Council because we are so much wiser now.
We < Catholics have always believed that fact , even before DTM became a catholic. We did not come to believe this a few days ago because DTM boldly spoke it. St Luke wrote it 1930 years ago and we catholics have never doubted it
