Interested in the lasting presence of Dr. Martens and wanting a look into their production process, we took a trip to their Wellingborough factory. There, Daniel Freeland spoke about why Dr. Martens has enjoyed such a successful run in the last half century and its most enduring traits.

wearing DMs since 90s... and still wearing them to work everyday although I'm in normal office environment.. thanks to my "Arthur" for keeping me different from the rest! forever DMs! \m/

I was damn lucky with that find. I noticed them as I was sorting the shoes and they were the perfect fit. I had to borrow some money from a fellow volunteer, but she only had £3. So I took that and told my manager I would pay the rest after Christmas (only £2 more) and he let me have them for the £3 as a 'Christmas present'

If you buy new ones labeled as Vintage, those are made in England. I actually picked up a black pair of original 1460's yesterday for £3 (Charity Shop, I volunteer there and it took some haggling with the manager) but those were made in England. So look for a pair made before 2003 or a new Pair labeled as "vintage"

You can buy them made in the UK. But you usually have to look online, Otherwise they are made in china sadly. And the price is higher for the made in UK boots.

I have a pair of "getta grip" ones. My first pair of dr martens ever. They are OK but not as good as I hoped for. The tongue keeps going to the side on one of them. And they arnt that comfy. The leather isn't as high quality as I expected. And they are made in china. I'm saving money for a made in England pair. Hopefully im not disapointed.

I bought boots for my husband as a wedding anniversary present less than a year ago. the sole have split. Dr martens are ignoring my emails. We have 8 pairs. I can't love them any more.Sick of it. They're a disgusting company. They just take your money and no responsibility.

CelticPride Actually i am not questioning the radicalism of the ones who wear and follow the brand, i see what you mean. I know everything about the history of the brand, but my bitterness comes from the people who run the company and after working for this company for 2 years and seeing how this company works i hate when they use the word ''rebellion'' to promote the brand. I don't know if you see where i am coming from ;) Plus the company wanted to get hijacked by mainstream pop singers! They are sad anyway :(

It's horrible how a company which made the boot for the working people of Britain has practically became a bit of a hipster deal and seeing all these preppy girls all "omg i got my docsz!!" is annoying. There is nothing rebellious about Docs either, just a simple well made boot for the working class. :)

Air Jordans are clownish shoes made for the Circus; however, I will admit that the Air Jordan 1990 black suede shoes with the webbed back support are boss shoes and pure class; aside from those, most Air Jordan models are horrendous.
