Same. I bought a pair and they tore my heels to shit. People kept telling me that they take time to “wear in”. But even months later my socks were soaked in blood after a few hours of wearing the abominations. Who the fuck wants to own shoes that you have to basically mangle yourself in before they fit properly?

@Sir John Football yeah, you gotta wear thick fluffy socks with them if there's enough space, make its comfy and keeps your feet warm especially in colder countries + you get to look cool 😉
@@Sirjohnfootball docs do that if they don't fit your feet *perfectly* :/ I have one pair that can make my feet sore still after wearing them daily for over a year and another pair that were comfy as shit from the very first day.
Wear 2 pairs of socks(one pair thicker)and plasters around little toes and heels while you're breaking them in.. The first time I wore mine I made the mistake of only wearing only one pair of socks & my feet were ripped to bits after 20mins of walking.. They're all good now I've broke them in
As somebody who wears Doc Martins regularly, I can confirm that all of this is true, although you did forget to mention the self hatred that we all feel, expressed through the fact that we all wear a type of shoe that is supposed to hurt while you wear it for an extremely long period of time. But other than that everything was spot on. Now if you don’t mind I need to get back to doing ketamine and writing incredibly original anti-capitalist literature, containing never before seen ideas such as: Homelessness bad and maybe people who cannot pay for food shouldn’t just have to die. I’m sure it’s gonna be a hit with all the friends I have that I see every time I go to rehab.

im fucking geeked. just found these vids and they're gold. im from the US and just graduated from WVU. WVU has a some pretty distinct cultural categories amongst its student body. I think there's huge potential for videos like this. I've witnessed groups of 30+ fraternity kids where every member os wearing literally the exact same thing (timbs with jeans or grey sweats and a hoody with a flannel over top). The mullet returned (although the trend is almost over) and there's a big section of people who disidentify with fraternity and bro culture and they all choose to wear edgy or gothic shot with docs and dyed hair and septum piercings. thank you for these videos man! very funny. keep going!!
My biggest gripe with Docs are that they fuse the upper boot to the sole with adhesives, rather than the more traditional way. It makes repairs and resoling absolutely difficult. Most cobblers you go to arent willing to do the job, and the ones that are will put you on their silent shitlist. The design of their boots fly in the face of the entire purpose of what a boot is supposed to be: a repairable work shoe that stays with you for life.
Docs just suck all round, a £40 boot being sold for £200, Redback, Red Wings, Whites, Thursday are way better quality boots for the same price, and like you Tumans said, Solovair if you want the 100% docs look.

@@killazaawl i think it’s made up but cbd is a compound found in weed that is fully legal in most states. it’s basically the ibuprofen version of weed. a cbd coffee would make you calm (cbd) and wired (coffee) so it’s a very silicon valley idea

I'm old enough to remember Doc Martens being popular in the late 1970s and then in the 1980s. They were connected to the Skinhead movement. Now they are making a come back, and guys with long hair are wearing them.

In the Netherlands, like 70% of all girls wear doc Martens. It’s a huge staple. Doc martens have lost all their meaning here. Even people with a good parental relationships wear them 😔😔

The ones with the white contrast stitching on the midsole are Solovair brand, which are slightly superior to Doc Martens in terms of quality of materials and construction.

I used to wear docs all through middle school and high school they were great since back then in mid/late 90’s were only associated with the alternative/goth scene and it made you instantly unapproachable by other teens unless they were on the same group 😂

Even though I own a pair of Docs (from early 2000s before manufacturing moved to China) every sarcastic comment here has a beautiful grain of truth in it. The best type of comedy.
