Patricia Resick created cognitive processing therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. Here, at the University of Vermont, she describes how cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD has changed over time.
A Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University, Dr. Resick is past president of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the American Psychological Association.

The differences in effect size by age was depressing as someone in their 30s who has suffered from PTSD since his teenage years.
