I was like and??? it's a job, like any other. this woman is a HORRIBLE example, but I feel like a good majority of people who do similar things don't bring it into their home life/parenting. At least this way the child has a chance to not only fix her ways but still have a healthy relationship with her parents (at least father anyway). Yes he makes money, but he is qualified to actually help, calling the cops would have destroyed her life. This is why so many kids end up crappy adults, they need a chance to change.

He always makes a big deal about saying that he always informs the authorities in these cases. Also its worth noting that this way he paid out of pocket for her to go to the best possible rehab, instead of just throwing her into the regular cps/foster care situation. (Though if you want to argue that the whole premiss of dr phil is gross and exploitive, I wouldnt really disagree lol.)
