Maybe if the video was more than 20 pixels it would be more accurate. Yes I'm exaggerating, but in real life everything would be much clearer.

Somebody should do a more modern version of this so that viewers wouldn't blame potato camera quality for their failures. I can guarantee that majority of the people would make the incorrect decision even if all the footage was 4K.

None. Proves what happens when cops don't tell the witness that the perpetrator may or may not be present. Not a trick question here. It's to show you how this happens.

I'm only on a phone. Only got a glimpse of profilef view with highly contrasting light & shadow. I don't think the guy was in lineup though.

This test is not very good. I mean, there is an unspoken implication, he will be in the line up, so you try to pick which one looks most like him. So, you are not wrong, you picked the person who looks most like him. They should say more clearly that you should only pick if you are sure. You’re setting up the audience by allowing them to conflate the concept of picking out a person with trying to guess. By leaving out the accused your getting unhelpful info.

Doesn't matter. The eye witness isn't really looking in their face most of the time identifying features. Their thoughts usually are "fight or flight" and "holy sh!t that guy has a gun!". The truth is, the person, like the woman in this episode, could be SO DESPERATE to get her criminal in jail, that she wrongly accuses somebody. School is great, but it will hardly ever argue against anything to deal with the government (weak congress/democracy, broken judicial, etc).

This could have been a much better 'experiment' had it mimicked and actual lineup. I agree that eyewitness testimony is incorrect more times than it is correct. But this little charade does nothing to drive that point home. The viewers just end up feeling tricked and walk away with nothing.

OK. So I saw the answer. Wouldn't that be a trick question then. If there isn't an option for what the actual answer is, how can this be considered an accurate answer? They were told to pick one, so that's what was done.

He wasn't in the line up but every "DAMN" body voted that it was at least one of them and every number got picked by somebody. People are stupid.

By the way, did you know George Washington was a slave owner? They don't teach that in school! Our great first president owned over 316 slaves! He had slaves since he was a young teen up till his death. He may have said "I can not tell a lie", but that doesn't make an honest man out of him.
