When I first heard Digging Your Scene I instantly fell in love with the song. At the time I was 17 years old and I feel we were truly spoilt with quality music. The best way to describe them is Suave, Sophisticated pop, new wave and soulful. I had no idea Dr Robert moved to Australia for a while. That would of been totally different scene to what he grew up with. Thankfully we did have great bands in 80s that were new wave, pop and a few funk/soulful bands because Australia is very heavily into rock, which I’m not into! I love glam rock but not pub style rock. Thankfully I’ll be able to see Blow Monkeys perform in Liverpool on my trip there to the UK ❤✨🎶
@@popthehistorymakers as soon as my brother and I decide we’re travelling to the UK, there’s always a concert involved. Then we start to search for more because we get a limited number of musicians tour here in Australia. We’re going this time for Culture Club performing songs from Kissing To Be Clever and Colour By Numbers. To see tracks from Kissing To Be Clever would never happen here in Australia. Yes, we’ve seen them many times here but it’s always the hits. So, that’s why we try and fit in more concerts. When we came across Blow Monkeys touring, we knew we had to see them. It’s always a busy schedule when we travel 🎶✨♥️
I was in my early teens when the Blow Monkeys were huge and was too young to understand roberts songs,now I am in my early 50,s,a cancer survivor and I am addicted to BM albums.Dr Robert is one cheeky chap ☺️.Journey to you is a fantastic album.Thank you for the interview,you can still see robert,s passion for music.He also is cute as a silver fox 😋
