I am too late to the proper skincare game! Previously, I would look up any influencers' recommendation on skincare and products. Once I found Dr. Dray, Dr. V, Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah's Doctorly, Dr. Daniel Sugai's channels, I have stopped watching influencers like Hyram, James Welsh, and others. I would trust the advice and recommendation of the dermatologists who studied skin for 12 years and literally in practice treating patients (theory + experience) more than influencers. Thank you. Thank you. I cannot be grateful enough for you Dr. Sugai. I feel like I wanna send you a gift. 🙏
I LOVE Differin! I don't have acne, but had a irritating case of keratosis pilaris on my cheeks. Differin has worked wonders, no more bumps on my upper cheeks.
True I stopped buying all the hyped products from influencers/magazines cause I broke out really bad in my early 40s. I only buy products my dermatologist recommends. Cleared up within a few weeks only using 4 products. Adapalene worked 🙏
Wahoo almost 70k subs! Congrats Dr. Sugai, that's awesome!! I've been using Differin 2 times a week using the sandwich method with the skinfix barrier cream. Wink wink. I took your suggestion and ordered the TIL peptide cream and waiting to arrive. Can't wait to try it. Have a terrific week! See you soon at the amazon live.
I have a long story about acne. Acne became my friend or enemy since I had 17, now I have 32 and still with acne. No doctor could helped me in my country. I did managed all by my self for some years, took the wrong road but had a clear skin for a few years. Now at 32 it is again with me, my dear acne. I don't even know how a clear skin looks like...I was also.in depression( still I am) because of this, just that now I managed better the issue as I am older but when I had 17 years until 20 , I didn't go outside the house , just at school... I can't find products good for my skin as I tried many of them, and now I don't use alchool or fragrance on my skin, not even talc in makeup. Since Covid start I also lost a lot of hair, I know is a hormonal thing... I also had a diet, no sugar, no meat, no carbohidrates and my skin was looking good. Long story about, but this is a real issue for young people, and I wish I can do something for them as for me was horrible and nobody could understand me on that period of time... I subscribed to this channel maybe I will find out more about acne, or find products good for me... at the moment I am using just from La roche posay products and aloe vera gel...and they are good but not helping me with my acne...
pls talk more about wrinkles...a lot of us are older and care about aging nicely. Thank you. Hopefully Differin is helpful for us but pleases explain why and how it works re mature skin
Hi, Dr. Sugai! I have been using CeraVe Retinol Resurfacing Serum and just transitioned to Adapalene 0.1%. CeraVe was really good for my skin because my acne heals with PIE and PIH. Will Adapalene be just as good at helping me with it or will it perform weaker/stronger? A reply would be much appreciated.
I'm in my forties and have acne. I use adapalene, salycilic acid cleanser, and niacinamide serum. It has been successful at controlling breakouts thankfully. My question is what order do we put these 3 in our routine? Adapalene, hyaluronic acid serum and niacinamide serum? Then I follow with pm moisturizer.
I find it funny when they say “if you have hormonal acne, we might put you on a birth control to regulate your hormones” THATS WHAT CAUSED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE 😂
Ive seen people with iud and nexplanon and certain oral birth controls cause acne. But there are other bcs specifically for acne watch dr drays video on bcs for acne
Hello, I don't have hormonal acne but I get some few pimples. Can I use adapalene? I also have some dark spots from old pimples and it stays for long time. Do you suggest me to use adapalene or vitamin c? Thank you!
Thank God i found this true dermatologist dr. I watched a lot of skincare influencers and some dermatogist here in Yt but i felt like they lacked of something. Hahaha I think you are one of my most trusted! Like youre literally not just about promoting skcare product. You just share very informative videos! You really educating me to skincare. Im on my mid 20s and i have some pimples but im not into skincare even though i was inyroduce to some ingredients i need by my age. I felt lazy whenever i think about doing it. Hi im starting using that and after 4 weeks i'm purging and some parts are improving but is it okay to encounter some comedones to that part that you're not having a break out? Just 2-3 comedone
I used to used benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid together all the time and it never bothered me and my skin was great, never had big issues, I’ve had milia for a long time but no serious acne. Then I hit my thirties and acne just started coming out of nowhere in clusters, and no amount of BP or SA worked! Tried differin and couldn’t really tolerate it, found out later I was using too much too soon. I was at a loss! I saw a Dermatologist for this first time and she gave me tretinoin. Worked great and was the only thing that got rid of my milia. But can’t really afford so I tried differin again. I've been using it for a couple weeks and I think it’s working.
@@Juliet42110 I use the cream. No it will not clog pores. The whole point of tretinoin is to turn over cells faster to reduce clogged pores. I've never had a problem, and I have very oily skin.
@geminidragonreads how do you use differin? After moisturizer or do you use it straight or the sandwich method? How many days do you use it when you first started?
@@jayeshaw5705 I used it twice and then stop and never started again. I’d really rather stick with tretinoin. I definitely wasn’t using it correctly but, it’s definitely not for me.
Along with temporary worsening of acne, irritation, dryness, redness etc when beginning Differin 0.1% cream, is it normal for my forehead to feel bumpy? Not acne like, but just bumpy and rough. Is that just apart of what Differin is bringing to the surface? I’m using it every other day, and have used it 6 times thus far.
I have a question. If im acne prone and i use Differin for that purppose and my acne clears am i hable to switch to a Retinol or should i just keep using differin? will my acne come back if i use Retinol instead?. I dont see any one talking about this topic.
1.Can you use 4% BP wash then Differin few hours later before bed? 2. Can you use BP face-wash at night then SA face- wash in the morning? ** (I know everybody’s skin is different but just wondering in general with these ingredients)
I've been using Differin for 4 months consistently (at least 6 times per week) for acne. My skin tone has improved so much and my pores are barely visible, I don't get irritation or redness, but I still get pimples regularly (4-5 per week sometime even more). I started to think my acne was better regulated before when I used benzol peroxide gel, but I hear and read everywhere that Adapeline is the most effective treatment. I'm confused, I don't know if I should quit Differin and continue with Benzol Peroxide or continue with Differin for a few more months and hope for change. Thank you in advance for your help.
Not a dermatolpgist but why not use both benzoyl peroxide and adapalene together since they're both the active ingredients in the Epiduo gel. I used Differin gel on most nights for about 4-5 months and it improved my skin significantly. I purged like crazy during the first 2-3 months but it gets way better after the 4th month. I reckon keep going with adapalene and add on the benzoyl peroxide to help kill the bacteria that causes acne and see how that goes. Everyone is different though so I hope that you'll figure out something that works for you. Good luck!
I’ve watched diff dermatologist that don’t recommend. Both being retinol it’s only going to waste your money and harm your skin. Retinols are pretty strong. Will only cause more irritation
There's also epiduo which combines BP/adapalene. Better to use products that have been formulated in the lab to be pH balanced and work together than playing amateur chemist.
Dr.Dray talks about this in her videos. I believe she said Vaseline on the eyelids(thin layer) before applying retinol but you can go check out her videos to verify
Dr Sugaui no offense but doing a simple 3 day fast will heal pretty bad acne. These products don’t get to the root cause of the gut and hormones problems. Just get your patients and followers to water and dry fast for permanent healing results. Thank you! 🙏🏼🎈🎁 (thumbs up)
This has to be the worst advice I've seen so far. Dry fast means nothing can be consumed aka absolute fasting- no water, broth, or tea. Most people drink water as well and you should not be only drinking water especially to help clear acne. Do more research before giving horrible advice especially since you're not a physician.
Respectfully, please do not tell people to fast without the supervision of a medical practitioner. I’m saying this as someone in esthetician school, part of our course is learning how diet impacts your skin. Yes processed sugar and heavily processed foods aren’t the best for your skin. Yes excessive sugar will cause glycation and bind to collagen fibers in the skin and can worsen inflammatory conditions but it will not cause them. If the problem is hormonal a patient should be referred to a physician, no amount of diet changes is going to completely correct a hormonal issue, it may help, but it won’t completely fix it. Telling people to fast for 3 days without medical supervision is wrong and dangerous.
