I got the band 10 years ago and have been at goal weight for 9 years. My stomach and arms are great...but I did have skin removal on inner thighs 5 years ago (BMI 22). Thank you for sharing 💕
*You're an incredible man for all that you do. I suffer from massive loose skin on my stomach, back, arms and thighs, but I am nowhere near my goal weight yet. My highest weight was 392lbs (I thought it was 380 but I just watched my very first video I ever made and it revealed that my highest weight was actually 392 lol. I have horrible memory and didn't even remember that!!!) Anyways,... I am now 251 lbs (I am 5 months post op RNY as of TODAY: August 2nd). I would love to have skin removal surgery one day, but I am one of those OTHER people you were talking about that feels like it truly is a badge of honour! As much as I hate it, I would rather have this loose skin then those 141 lbs back lol. I went from someone who couldn't even STAND for 5 minutes, to someone who just last week WALKED for FOUR HOURS!!! I am forever grateful to people like you who have devoted your life and career to saving people like ME :) Because of it.... I am actually LIVING for the first time IN my life
YOU ARE A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I hope you drink at least 64 ounces of water a day...that helps. Also, losing it too fast can cause it too. I would wait u til you are at, or near, your goal weight to decide on having those trouble spot areas sharpened up. I so excited for you!
Dr V, Thank you so much for all you do! I had my 1 year post opp check up last week. I have lost 150 lbs. My Dr told be I was probably done losing weight. That your body gets comfortable and nothing I will do matters. I left so discouraged. I still have about 30 lbs to go. I was just curious on your opinion regarding what I was told. In your experience is this true? Thank you!
Hey Dr. V! Can you make a video talking about pregnancy after weight loss surgery? - the recommend wait time after VSG vs RNY -the supplements during pregnancy - risks and outcomes (ie gestational diabetes and hypertension) - nutrition during pregnancy -need for maternal fetal medicine follow up -labs to be monitored.
Just love you! Thanks for the great advice, drank a green smoothie for dinner instead of a meal because that’s what I felt like. Thanks for the advice!!!
Preach LOL people, listen to this man. I told my husband before I started that I WOULD do my fat arms after, there would be skin and whoooo but there was! I didn’t have a bariatric surgery, I lost 100 pounds on my own, and even though it was done very slowly (bc it was the only way it came off was slowlY), and the healthiest way possible with 6 days a week of exercise, I had loose skin. You’re going to have It too,. Period. Don’t let people telling you that if you use bio oil, lotion, vitamin E, skin brushing, blah blah it won’t be loose. IT WILL. Unless you’re 25 years old any you were only fat 5 weeks and you’ve got some kind of a crazy DNA that only .000001% of us has then you will have loose skin. I choose my arms and a tummy tuck (that last thing is pure hell, trust me, and 10k but I have PCOS so my weight was right there). Chose your battles skin wise. Do what matters (the hide he rest, I found some great swim capris tight enough they hide the loose top of my thighs, just wasn’t worth another 10k to me! And the turkey neck requires a face life - expensive and major stuff, so I will deal with that. Good luck to you all! (PS diagnosis-wise, body dysmorphia... nope. Why does everybody with a medical degree think they have a Ph.D. In clinical psych, they aren’t doing surgery after all!? It isn’t body dysmorphia if there is a realistic basis for disliking the body part. It is a disorder because it irrational, in this case it would not be irrational 🤦🏼♀️)
I had gastric bypass in January 2020, I’ve recently started getting these skin bumps on one arm and now both arms and they are moving up towards my shoulders. Is that associated with the surgery?? If so, what can I do?
Hi, Dr. V, I had gastric bypass on 2011, lost 120lbs, but unfortunately have regained about 50lbs! Total fail! My fault!!! I came across all your videos and I’m beyond excited! Already implemented green smoothies in the morning and a big salad for dinner! Anyway, I’m very interested in getting this pdf, but I can’t click on the link! How can I get to it?? Thank you so much!!
Copy the link and plug it into the search area. It will take you straight to the page. Click on PDF which is towards the bottom of the page. Lots of great information. Good luck!
I didn’t have weight loss surgery. I lost over 100 lbs the natural way and i have loose skin. It’s highly annoying. I wouldn’t consider it a badge of honor. I can’t afford skin removal surgery either so i guess I’m stuck being flabby 😞
I would like to do the online but I am working on getting the duc366 book first. I am working on the sleeve book. Great book. I was reading it at the sleep Dr office and the nurse ask me what book were you reading. I told her and she took the information for her daughter who was stalled from sleeve. She wanted to read it too. Great book better than others I have read. I got mine on Walmart.com
Hi Dr V! What advice can you give to a 55 year old woman who has ulcerative colitis resulting in complete removal of my large intestine with pieces of the small intestine made into a J-pouch reservoir. I cannot eat raw fruit and veggies for risk of intestinal blockage. Is there some way to prepare raw veggies and fruit into a special shake or drink. For weight loss while having UC.
Dr. Vuong - good info but I want to know if it’s SAFE to fly to San Diego & have the surgery. Think I’ll get COVID. The center wants to start dates in October. Should I go get it in October 2020? Please answer me.
Have one queation. If a person is 5.3 and 176 lb with bodyfat 26% do you really think that person should go down to 121 like charts say should be her ideal weight. I always wonder wuth BMI and ideal weight. At 143 I sm in clothes 8, uk size, and almost look anorexic jet I'm only 5,3 and no not big boned. Would it be wrong that I don't want to go lower than 143. And yes I love to listen to you and absolutely believe you know your stuff.
5’4” at 120 lbs is too low of a weight for a middle aged caucasian woman. I weighed that much in my 20s. I now weigh 148 and would like to lose 10 - 12 lbs. I’m 62 years old with terrible spinal stenosis. Maybe if i was Japanese 120 lbs would be an okay weight. 😃
