Had this done recently. The surgeon said he removed 70% of it. I’m pretty terrified as I asked for a subtle amount removed and I thought that would be a little less that half. Is this going to age me

Hello Jonathon! I just had buccal fat removal, as well as a chin implant, rhinoplasty, and double chin lipo/muscle stitching from a different plastic surgeon. It’s been two days since the procedures and I already feel like my face is starting to look gaunt. Do you know why this is(is it just swelling or did my surgeon take too much out)?

were you worried about parotid duct injury? i've seen reviews of people who have major swelling weeks or even months later because of saliva duct injury. also wondering if it's normal for surgeons not to use stitches? i consulted with one who chooses not to use them

I don’t think it’s typical not to use stitches. Having said that if the wound opens up it usually heals on its own within days, so it’s not completely unreasonable either.

Would you say that the visualization you get by slightly biting the inside of your cheeks with your molars somewhat represents the effect of buccal fat removal on a patient? 🤔

Once this fat is gone it's gone, its not going to get stored there again which might make alot if peoples face very old kinda so it personally fixed it by improving sleep quality, start drinking almond milk which is full of magnesium helped me sleep well and it fixed my face fat, it's primary reason for face fat, lack of good sleep can make your face stored alot of face fat. Fix diet fix face
