Havelock River area is located in the Mid South Canterbury region, it’s about 3.5 hours ride from Christchurch. The Havelock River track is a mixture of riverbed tracks, gravel tracks and dirt tracks, which involves difficult and lengthy riverbed travel and is conditional on river levels. Water levels can rise rapidly due to rains and be aware that braids of the river can shift and there may be soft, sinking sand.
