Dracula: She belongs only to me, old fool Far too late for your heroism You better go, or die Much pain for a bit of fame Your life was wasted without any rewards or thanks Van Helsing: She‘ll never be like you, give her up I guard and protect her Your time is over, you fade No soul‘ll follow you into your grave I‘ve seen many monsters None of them were so sick It‘s over Dracula: It‘s over, your game is over Why don‘t you give up willingly The outcome will be the same Van Helsing: It‘s over, you now that all too well Both: The one who will win, is the other‘s death Dracula: Are you really as smart, as you think Your books, what‘s their use (now) When the darkness triumphs over the light Van Helsing: Every moment now, you‘ll turn into dust You and your atrocities will henceforth be over Dracula: I‘m far from being dead And I‘ll pitch into your children‘s blood You‘ll watch me from the grave when I‘ll do it Because your life is just miserably short, in humility and Virtue However, I‘m free It‘s over Van Helsing: It‘s over The game is over Why don‘t you give up willingly The outcome will be the same Dracula: It’s over You know that all too well Both: Then the one who will win, will be the other‘s death Van Helsing: Apart from what you have to say, prepare to die Dracula: I ruined your life‘s work, because victory‘ll only belong to me Tell me how you want to die Van Helsing: Soon I‘ll see how you‘ll disintegrate Both: It‘s over, it‘s over The game is over Why don‘t you give up willingly The outcome‘ll be the same It‘s over, you know that all too well Then the one who will win, will be the other‘s death And soon the whole world‘ll see who wins and who falls!
My only wish is that they'd stick this awesome song on the English versions. It's too bad it was written afterward, as it's seriously like the best song in the entire show. I would give my right arm to hear Douglas Sills and/or James Barbour sing this. The idea is just...hnnnnnggh.
Yeah, but the Finale is still my all-time-favourite^^ I love "Zu Ende" and it was the first Song of the Musical I ever heard but the Finale is just wonderful (and far better in english than in german despite Thomas Borchert is a quite awesome Dracula)
In the English versions it's really obvious that this was written in another language. It's just..akward. :/ In fact, the whole show sounds so much better in German. I love this show, but the German International release here is by far the best version, no question. Luckily they finally put it on RU-vid with lyrics included! It's gorgeous. :3
Actually it was written originally in English. Frank Wildhorn was the producer. I have several Demos with Douglas Sills playing Dracula. It didn't do well on Broadway. When it opened in Germany it did much better. Wildhorn seems to be doomed by critics before his shows even open. I like his shows quite alot.
I agree. And yes, the musical was originally English, but this song in particular was written for the actors in the German version. :) It really is sad how critics react to his work, as his is some of my favorite stuff.
Jonathan Robinson ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0c_8bQ_rIag.html this one is also really good, It's done in foreign language. The german version is superb too and very appealing to hear, but this did splendid and can compare in terms of performance :)
Dracula Are you really that smart you think you are? What use will your books have, When darkness is destroying the light VanHelsing Each moment you could pull to pieces of dust And your crimes will be past
VanHelsing Whatever you want to say Be prepared to die! Dracula I destroyed your lifetime achievement, Because the victory is mine! Tell me how you want to die!
Van Helsing: you shouldn't make Bambi and his friends Ziras kids! both: It's over it's over the time has come soon you will surrender to me you can see that I won! It's over all over your heart must know they're is no sign of victory only me kind of blow and we want to know which is us has to goooooooooooooooo!
Its over! Dracula Its over! Youre game is over Why dont you give up voluntarily? comes out at the same VanHelsing Its over You know this really well cause the one, who wins Will be the other ones death
it was writen to give Uwe Kroger another song but put in to the american version i'm duing the show this summer and playing the part of van helsing i will post english versions of the show when we are a good 3 months done so it will be up in december of this year mayyr early x-mas or other holiday
