My Romanian grandmother once told me, "It's a shame that Vlad Tepes wasn't around when the Nazis arrived in Romania - maybe things would have been a lot different, and I wouldn't have fled my homeland."
I think Vlad was misunderstood he was actually a hero. Most people know Vlad through the lens of Bram Stoker’s fictional “Dracula,” where he is depicted as a monstrous vampire. However, the real Vlad was far from a bloodthirsty villain. Instead, he was a complex and, in many ways, heroic figure who fought tirelessly to protect his homeland, Wallachia, from external threats. His actions, though severe, were aimed at a greater good: the survival of his nation and people.Thank you for being a part of this journey as we explore the many layers of history and the stories that often go untold. 🙏
